Looks like those 320' foul lines at Arkansas are paying off

Playing Louisiana college and Georgia 3x brought our RPI down. This will correct itself after we play back to back series at Florida and vs. aTm

ETA: being an SEC team ranked in the top 8 in all of the polls at the end of the year with a top 20 RPI is almost a lock for national seed

The Louisiana College game doesn't even count towards the RPI. The RPI only counts games against Division 1 teams.

We dropped from 8 to 17 after sweeping UGA this weekend

Seriously, they were absolutely awful. 12 hit batters, 21 walks and had a 4 error game. We didn't play well at all Saturday or Sunday and still won. I guess that's what concerns me is this is the worst SEC series we'll have this year outside of maybe Alabama...and we didn't play that well in it. Could be due to opponent, but we definitely need to play better this week or else we can easily lose a series @ UF.

By the way, how can Kevin O'Sullivan not figure out a good offense there? How many MLB talents do you need to hit over .250 as a team?

After this weekend, how are we not leading the world in HBP?

We averaged over 11 runs a game this weekend, had a team batting average of .333 and played error free defense for the 3 games.

What would the team have to do for you to believe we played well?

Good points. Plus it's hard to hit wild inconsistent pitching. It's hard to dig in at plate when batters are getting hit like crazy. You can't get in a rhythm at the plate. Sat or sun when the pitching is so wild. This team will be fine if they can tighten up the bullpen. That's the one thing that concerns me.

Exactly. We swept an SEC series.

Lange had a rough outing and the bullpen was shaky on Sunday.

One of those things will correct itself, and one of those things is a constant for every team in the country every single year.

We are good enough to have the opportunity to sweep any team we play. Walker is doing exactly what we need him to do on Sundays.

Beck is coming along well in the bullpen. It's not easy to have 3 appearances in 5 days, especially when 2 of them are a little stretched out. But he performed admirably.

This is misleading and you know it. The offense exploded on Friday and floundered on Saturday and Sunday, like he said.

People need to stop getting so offended just because someone points out the team didn't play great. It's actually a compliment to say they found ways to win despite not playing their best ball.

The baseball America excuse every time they overrank a team that's under performing is "we rank based on prospects, not on performance."

But if that's actually the case, why would the rankings ever change?

I'm not offended. He didn't say the "team didn't play great." He said the team "didn't play well."

I just want to know what it takes for Ranters to think the team played well.

So we should ignore the Friday game and just take the other two games into consideration for evaluating how the team did during the series?

Does committing no errors during the 3 games mean the team did not play good defense?

To "play well" does it mean the team must perform perfectly every play, every game?

It concerns you that despite not playing our best Saturday and Sunday, we still won both games? Those types of things should be encouraging. And fwiw I think we played fine in both games.
