Chambliss borrowed $1.5 million to pay for the home. So he put down 25% and financed the rest. The note is due in 2033.

It really depends on where you are and what the turnover is in that particular segment of the housing market. I mean if you are going to live in something really nice, you are going to have a high cost of renting so if there is a reasonable chance that you can sell and recoup equity that equals or exceeds that amount then it makes good sense. Better than blowing money on jewelry that is niche and won't appreciate, expensive cars or on other shite purchases.
But, it really speaks to the rank hypocrisy surround the whole issue of "former pro players" from the class of '22 that got screwed out of another year of earning in college vs. cases like Trinidad or Pavia. When college players are making this much money (not saying it is not deserved), then the old paradigm is completely out the window.

Thank you, as this was the point of the thread.
I don't fault the players for looking out for their best interests, and I'm well aware LSU players are doing the same thing.

Chambliss can sit on a townhome on the Square for a long time and it will appreciate like crazy. There is finite space and demand in Oxford keeps growing as people move there from Jackson/Memphis/etc. Will make good rental income on it too if he wants.

Real estate on the Square will only appreciate.
Despite all the shite Ole Miss gets, Oxford is an awesome town and it's growing rapidly. Hopefully that doesn't kill the charm.

How about equity? Dude will own the house, can make money off it once he turns pro and lives somewhere else. Can put it on Airbnb and make loads of money during fb season!
