you make a thinly veiled promise like you do with every recruit. its the way the sleazy get it done. doesn't seem to affect them. get em on campus and then do what u have to in order to win.

This.

Anyone that thinks that O wouldn’t have promised Burrow a night with his wife to get him enrolled is absolutely kidding themselves.

The dude is clearly desperate and you think he’s telling this guy you’ll get a fair chance to compete???? GTFO

Stop spreading rumors. Cincy did not guarantee Burrow anything.

This is the new O sycophant talking point.

I guess it was his "dream job" when he went with Kiffin to Tennessee instead of accepting the same positioon at LSU.

You pumpers need to come up with some new material. Something that is actually true.

I'd probably guarantee some playing time early in the season.

I already know that the guys on campus are a work in process. So, it's not like that time I'm giving to Burrow early is going to be stolen from a guy who clearly deserves it more.

Then I make all of the "non-promise" promises I can make about how his style matches, how right now he'd enter camp at the top of the depth chart, etc.

Yall.. I just talked to the barista at Starbucks and she has a friend who has toured OSU's campus before.. she said Burrow is an LSU lock. She always brews my coffee at just the right temperature so I trust her.

I’m not saying our current QBs are the problem. It’s what doesn’t seem to happen once they get here.

bullshite. Every QB, and QB recruit, knows the drill. It's the most critical position on the field, and the competition will be brutal.

It won't affect recruiting one bit. Recruits know that our existing QBs aren't good, and so the coach is forced to look outside for a transfer. Happens frequently.

It's big-boy football.

so how long do you want to give them to "develop"? A year? Two? Three?

No, young QBs can play immediately if they have the talent and the coaching staff puts them in the right scheme. "Development" doesn't mean guys have to be taught from ground-zero. The coaches just have to know how to put the QB in the right scheme and run an offense that maximizes their skill-set and, yes, teach them to correct their deficiencies.

But QBs don't need years to be nurtured.

Saban has had a lot of QBs transfer. I am sure Saban would promise the kid a starting role and do whatever he wants when the time comes. Cincy already has a returning senior starter with decent stats.

This comment is exactly where we are as a program. We are an above average QB from a real shot at very good things. Very tough league and schedule.

Yep. Just exactly who is that? And we thought or were sold that Canada was that. These are the same kind of comments on the head coach job. There are no certainties. Fisher was never coming. Herman was not coming once Texas got involved. All the others were bigger risks than Orgeron.

Option 2. You NEVER guarantee a starting position for anyone coming in.
