Coach Orgeron's Ultimate Fate
Posted on 7/17/17 at 10:12 am

What will be Ed Orgeron's method of departure from LSU, whenever this occurs?
A - Fired
B - Retires
C - Leaves for another job elsewhere
Does anyone REALLY think it will be B or C? And if you think it's A, that says something about the quality of the hire.

He will be fired at some point. It is rare that a head coach decides his own fate.
No it doesn't.

It won't be C. If he ends up getting fired in 10 or 15 years, does that still mean it was a bad hire?

Mack Brown is a sure fire HOF coach. He won National Championships. He was fired.
Les Miles won a National Championship and played for another. Won multiple SEC Championships. He was fired.
Phillip Fulmer was relieved of his duties at Tennessee. He won a national championship.
Point is great/legendary coaches get fired from jobs. MOST coaches get fired. The point of your thread is fricking stupid.

It will be A because that's the reality for most head coaches. How long can he hold on is the question. If you use his past as an indicator he will be gone in 3 years.

In today's world the vast majority of coaches fall under category A.
Posted on 7/17/17 at 10:31 am to LSUinMA
Most coaches, good coaches even, fall into A.
Stupid thread is stupid.

O will win a couple championships then leave for the Bama job when Saban retires

can we at least get through a whole season first

Carried out on his players shoulders. Then fired four games into the next season.

Better than Arnsparger, Archer, Hallman or Dinardo? Does not get fired mid-season like Miles. Guess that puts him ahead of 5 out of the last 6 LSU coaches?
ETA:
Winning percentage will probably be better than 51%, 65% and 69%, so I guess that will put him above Dietzel, Stoval and Charlie Mac, too.
So,maybe top 10% in the last 50 years at LSU?

I don't know his ultimate fate at LSU.
I do know this: while I'm not a constant Alleva basher, I have no problem tying Joe Alleva's fate to Ed Orgeron's job performance.

A. Fired. We were shut out at home against Bama and laid an egg at home against UF. I cant believe alleva actually hired him

Maybe we should let him coach his first full season as head coach of LSU before having this discussion.

Wins 3 National Championships then takes the athletic directors job for 2 years before becoming Governor.

Agree. See the two winningest coaches in FBS history as examples. Bowden made the program and he couldn't even leave on his own terms.

Only positive is that Alleva will be fired with Orgeron.
