I watched The Waterboy yesterday, and he was a very good assistant coach

I never said he was good. I'm simply pointing out that the records of the 2 previous coaches are similar to the current coach.

Brian Kelly is a mediocre coach. He went 9-3 in his 1st two regular seasons. 9-3 will be the what we can expect from him.

Les took over a stacked roster.

O took over a stacked roster with the exception of QB position; reached the pinnacle then cratered the program.

Kelly took over an absolute dumpster fire and during a rebuild proceeds to produce results in line with two coaches that took over a program in much better shape. That's not mediocre.

Baloney! The third year - next year - should have a little lingering effect. The fourth year, none at all.

Well I see you have no understanding that it takes several recruiting classes to rebuild quality depth and if not for the transfer portal we would be a lot worse off than we are now…

In the two years since Kelly has been here, we’ve literally doubled our win total from the previous two years.

False. 11 wins in 20/21 and 19 in 22/23.

Coach O is gone, but. This legendary LSU football coach gave LSU fans some truly great moments and some not-so-great. Nearly every head college football coach has had not-so-great moments. I just want to reflect on some of the great moments in LSU history and for our state of Louisiana, all due because of Coach Ed Orgeron.

One such moment. Coach O inside the BDS locker room with some of LSU's greatest players all chanting (Roll Tide What? F***K You) RTWFU after a historic victory over Alabama was one of his many greatest contributions to LSU fans and to the state of Lousiana. Those simple few words spoke for all of us and how we all felt towards Alabama. Words that will likely never be spoken again inside BDS' locker room.

Coach O could recruit the top defensive talent in the country to LSU. Some top defensive high school recruits who didn't even have LSU among their top list of elite schools were swayed to signing with LSU because Coach O knew how to reach them, he how to move them, how to gain their attention. What made Coach O so unique among college head coaches, was the fact that he not only could sell top recruits to sign with LSU, he sold them on the virtues of our state and culture. Joe Burrow will forever consider himself a part of not just LSU, but Lousiana culture too.

Another great moment. Coach O not only decided to change offenses at LSU but also to trust and hire a very young and unproven assistant coach to advise on how to run LSU's new offense, then recruited and persuaded a dual quarterback from way up north at OHIO St, to transfer to LSU, despite LSU already having quarterbacks who could start.

And Coach O possessed this remarkable attribute. Every head college football coach in the country at a top football program has a huge ego, and most suffer from it, Jimbo is just one example. Miles has one, Saban has one, Harbough has one, and Kirby and Day both have one. The reason Day at Ohio St with superior or similar talent can't beat Harbough at Michigan is partly due to his ego. The reason Harbough is partly due to his ego. But Coach O never had one, that fact most likely contributed to the greatest season in the history of college football in 2019.

LSU fans can decide to downvote away. But if Kelly ever wants to sell LSU to the top defensive talent in this country, he really needs to know what sells them about LSU and Louisiana. Have a nice day!

You can't attribute the success of the last 2 years to CBK while assigning the blame for what goes wrong to O.

Yes you can.
CBK has done a Herculean job getting two nine win regular seasons out of Orgeron's shite-show. I credit CBK for the nine wins and blame Orgeron that it could not be better.

To say a roster should be championship worthy two years after taking over a losing program is football ignorant.

Not what I said.

Coach O recruited/signed a DB that was freshman All American.
Now we can't sign a recruit or buy one from the Portal with the offer of NIL, to even play the position.

But its all O's fault.

Les Miles won 77% of his games @ LSU
Ed Orgeron won 72% of his games @ LSU

Both are widely considered to be terrible coaches.

Brian Kelly has won 73% of his games. He is 0-2 in season openers, he is 3-5 vs top 25 (38%) & 2-4 vs top 10 (33%). Brian Kelly is considered a football god.

Never change rantards, never change.

Les took over from Saban who left an elite roster:

1) He won 77% of his games
2) He left Coach O an elite roster

Coach O took over from Les:

1) He won 72% of his games
2) He left Kelly a roster in shambles

You do know that it’s ok to be objective about Orgeron right? You don’t have to die on this hill that he did no wrong.

There's a large gap between the hyperbole of "he set the program back 10 years" and "he did nothing wrong"
