I agree With you that the weekeat person on the field is always a target

My point is that you’re not really need to be playing 44 players in meaningful snaps if stay healthy.

Clemson isn’t as talented across an 85 man roster but that gap shrinks when you looks at the 30 something players who were actually getting snaps in that game

Plus Bama was a little overrated, the signs were there all season but after they crushed us our fans acted like they could win the Super Bowl.

Clemson was better at QB and on the Dline which are two of the biggest areas in the modern game.

Of course they did, they rally to make excuses like no other fan base. And I’m not picking on the Cheerios here because the Miles lovers did this too.

Do you believe that Dan Mullen is for sure a better coach than Orgeron? Or do you think he's gotten the best of him with less talent the last 2 years and we need more of a sample size to make a definitive statement?

I think Dan Mullen is the second best coach in the SEC. I know you didn't ask me.

What he does with less is remarkable. That matchup is only going to get harder.

He’s got a young QB now (Emory Jones) who looks like he could be bigtime in that offense.

It's hard to disagree with that right now. I only asked it that way to compare that to the Saban/Dabo statement. I don't think it's accurate to say that one coach is definitively better than the other ever was on a 2 game sample size. Orgeron can absolutely prove that he is the better coach over the next 5-10 years if he has success.

This is a NO BRAINER... Sorry folks but Saban is a far better coach than Dabo even at this point.... I will say this... Saban LOOKED old in the title game.

Ridiculous statement when Dabo has won 2 of the last 3, and Dabo had players with far less talent.

Funny how so many O-bashing NegaGators are Nicky defenders.

Dabo is a better coach right now. Period.

So we have people on here that you feel are bashing O and are negative when it comes to the Gators? In your opinion those 2 are somehow connected?

I have as well, but I also thought Coach O was gonna crash and burn.

As did I. I predicted 8 regular season wins this past year. Getting to 10 was a pleasant surprise.

Although without Burrow and Tracy, I doubt we would have gotten to 10 wins.

I had 8 for this past season as well. But, when he was hired I honestly thought he may not have a winning season. Thank goodness I was wrong on that one. Burrow and Tracy were both huge additions. Incredible job by Coach O to get those guys.

And Dabo STILL slobberknocked him in the Natty. Could Saban be losing a half-a-step?

Or is Dabo a better HC than Saban ever was? Can't have it both ways - LOL

Youre dismissing an unprecedented run from 2009-present day because of a single game?

The better coach can be outcoached. The better coach with more talent can be beaten when its a 1 game sample.

Do you follow the sport?

I've been pretty amazed with this latest conversation. Basically, it's a horde of posters who are simultaneously telling me that O's three-loss season is a hallmark of a program that is trending up and climbing to the ranks of contention, and Saban, who has won two of the five CFP Nattys, the most recent one being for the 2017 season, is losing a step because his one loss this past season was in the CFP final game.

It's completely asinine, but I'm enjoying the hell out of laughing at it.

This bullshite saying has been adopted.
The original saying is," a CHAIN is as strong as its weakest link".
I never knew teams won and lost by how good their worst player is.
