Of course. Its no longer unacceptable to have 3 or 4 losses, not be competitive against bama, and having a shite offense.
3 or 4 losses is still unacceptable! But, regardless of mantra-- 2 years at helm to settle in is appropriate. O has made some positive changes and decisions... but it's now time to see them translate to Ws on the field. This year needs to be a year with 1 or 2 regular season losses--MAX! Will 3 get him fired? Apparently not. But his seat will warm considerably! And offense better be more dynamic or fans will get restless quickly. Pieces are in place... returning starting QB, OL with returning experience, and WR and young but talented RBs.

Here's your primary villain. Regardless of the shite Alleva gets, this is the overlord.

A less talented Auburn program doesnt have any trouble beating bama on a semi regular basis.
I truly believe this is because both Miles and Orgeron have played it cautiously or tentatively on offense. They both appear to fear the turnover or concede that LSU will have to win with defense, field position etc and playing "not to lose". Teams cannot be timid when they play Bama.
Teams that give Bama trouble throw caution to the wind and are aggressive. Auburn, Ole Miss and Clemson (obviously) let it all hang out. I suspect it it makes their players less uptight. Likewise I think our players, particularly the quarterbacks and skill guys to play tentatively.
I'd rather let it all hang out and let the chips fall.

When you have a kickass defense, this is ok. However if you need to be able to open it up, you have to have it.
Nothing wrong with playing ball control but you gotta be able to open it up at times.

Greatest thread EVAR!

To some degree but I’m talking about the approach and attitude. You can’t be so afraid to make mistakes that you stymie the offfense. I think it’s like the old “four corners” in hoops. The shot clock killed that. Now it’s fast break on grass in football. You have to score. More importantly you’ve got to give the players confidence by trusting them to make plays.

Every time the thread seems to be on life support, someone seems to say something that triggers a few people and we are back.

I agree with this. It's a culture. Sometimes you just have to trust your guys to go out and execute.

One of Miles biggest issues was that when the passing game didn’t work he’d just pack it in.
One of the biggest compliments I can Give O& E about thenoffense this year was that they didn’t abandon the passing game even when it was rough early.

I think part of the issue was there wasn't much of a running game. I think that changes this year though
