He was a one year or 2 year wonder…in 2019 so many of the key players came back for their senior year….which led to a perfect season and a natty…
He must have thought he was at a wedding on the bayou not in New Orleans….
Wonder what he was like in his youth….

Exactly. Look at 2020. They go 5-5. Add in the OOC games and that would have been 7-5/8-4. Then in 2021 he went 6-6.

Really it wasn’t as bad as it seemed. However the way it was trending who knows how bad 2022 could have been. That might have put LSU way behind. Pulling the plug early like that was extremely smart.

Hate him or love him, Kelly was the right guy to bring in. He brought stability at a time when LSU needed it badly.

It’s why he’s great and terrible at the same time.

Coach O likes the spotlight, as many do. He’s turned it into a celebrity brand. But don’t think for one minute that his ‘enthusiasm’ didn’t positively affect the players and fans; it did. And the people at that party likely egged it on; who knows unless or until someone there makes it known.

I had a chance to strike up a conversation with Ed at a high profile party, and passed on it. Given the room probably prudent decision. Conversation would have been interesting. I liked his vibes and regret that I didn’t move.

He should pay the wife and keep being ‘Coach O’. Live and learn.

Not so sure OOCs would've been Ws.
Once the brain trust from previous LSU regime deserted him the true Ole Piss version of ED was revealed again.

Stability in not competing for championship? He's shown nothing so far that indicates he's capable of running the SEC gauntlet and winning a championship.

Yup. And will never get offered a head coaching again. Not hard to see why.

You could offer the same career path Ed took to 99% of college coaches and they'd take it. Why our fanbase tries to downplay 2019 is beyond me.

nobody downplays 2019.

people just recognize that 2019 was the anomaly in O's career.
great season, thankful it happened.

but looking at it objectively, he's a lot more likely to continue producing 2020 and 2021 (or even Ole Miss 2005-2007) type seasons than he was of ever turning another 2018 type, let alone another 2019.

You are so clueless and out of touch. LSU is in damn great shape post O considering the state of the program when Kelly came in.

People conveniently forget how BK beat Bama. When they were still elite. En route to an SEC championship appearance. LSU had NO BUSINESS sniffing Atlanta in 22 after the disaster that was 20 & 21.

Examples that what LSU could have turned out to be: Auburn, Oklahoma, Florida.

Don’t tell me Kelly isn’t providing stability and keeping LSU relevant. We could be extremely much worse off. Some of Yall are some ungrateful “fans”. You can’t seriously look at BK’s resume and think he’ll NEVER get back to a national title game with LSU’s resources.

LSU won two titles with two totally unqualified coaches. It’s not IF it’s WHEN with Kelly. The sooner you negatigers buy in, the better your life will be. Kelly is OVER QUALIFIED for the job. LSU is a program where the HC just has to wait and watch it happen because it eventually will. Ask any SEC fan base who’s been around. They know those 3 letters. Doesn’t matter what they do. LSU will always come back out of no where.

We ended up with coaches like Curley Hallman and Ed Orgeron because our fan base identified intellectually with them.
