Coach Mulkey Health Scare

Wow, this happened to me about 3 years ago. Felt pressure on my chest while on vacation. Thought it was COVID. Got back home and called my PCP to get a check up. They sent me to the ER and had 2 99% blockages, and they inserted stents. Lucky to be alive.

That’s how it works. I was looking at treatment for another issue and they found out that I had a heart problem.

I was having chest pains and went for a CAT scan as I have electrical heart problems. They found a artery in my abdomen with a dissection and aneurysm that needed 4 stents. I was about to pop.

Thank God she is okay.

A memo needs to be distributed to the SEC officials that she has a medical excuse for holding up her middle finger.

I looked healthy too. Played college basketball, 6' 3", 215 pounds, parents lived into their 90's.

In my case it was cholesterol. Was having thickening in my carotid arteries, and had no issues with cholesterol. It wasn’t the total number as much as it was the cholesterol type. There’s much more to your LDL than total numbers. A lipid panel is best.

In 2018, I had a total hip replacement in January, ending 3 years of severe pain. As I rehabbed by walking, I developed occasional nausea, then vomiting with increased walking distance. Months later, it morphed into chest pain. I knew what it was. In December 2018, I underwent cardiac catheter surgery for 2 each 100% blockages and one 90% blockage. I now have three stents in my arteries.
I went on to lose 71 pounds over the next 18 months and I feel fine today.
I hope it continues.

Know your family history very well and get an annual physical. Best advice I could give.

It’s shocking to me that someone with the kind of money Kim Mulkey has does not get screened for that. I’m 60 and for the last 10 years I get an annual physical that is extensive. It screens for everything obvious. And every three years I get a scan that shows the percent blockage (indirectly by looking at calcium).

I had similar thoughts about Kobe Bryant flying around in a helicopter with a single pilot and 30 year old avionics with no synthetic vision. He was saving $400,000 per year and taking radical risks with the lives of himself and his family.

I had a ligament tear in my leg and it filled my foot with blood. The doctor became concerned for some reason with blood clots so they did a sonic test from my foot to tge heart. There were no blood clots but they found an anerism(?} in my aorta. So every year they run a test to evaluate it and measure it’s growth. So far it is still very small and growth is negligible, with some years no measurable being detected.
