There is a lot of competition for recruits in the SEC.

There is a ton of parity in baseball, particularly in the SEC. Look at how many SEC teams are in the top ten.

I expect LSU to be in the regionals every year but sometimes it isn't going to happen.

We bitch all the time about what a shitty place Louisiana and/or Baton Rouge is then wonder why recruits don't want to go to LSU?

In college, having a pair of dominating starters can mean you'll prevail in every three games series.

The incessant complaints about Coach Maineri are repetitive and unnecessary.

The expectations may be a little high for the paroty level in college baseball these days, but LSU recruits at the top every year.

Player development is lacking and that falls on the head coach period

Wrong! I have always been a CPM admrer, but the head man is where the buck stops. LSU’s head coach has a built in advantage over everyone else due to fan support. Over a ten year period LSU should be #1 in the nation and certainly the SEC. We are not even close.

This is very true. But, fan support alone won't help in this day and age.

I hate that LSU baseball is not as competitive as it should be. I enjoy watching the baseball games but a 13-1 game just doesn't do it for me.

And why shouldn't LSU baseball be in the mix for the top recruits?

Parity will always lead to losses, but does it lead to a 1-6 record and getting blasted 13-1 in a Friday home game?

There should never be a time where a program like LSU does not advance to a regional.

With our player facilities, fan support, and history of getting guys into the league why would they not? Maybe a certain some running the program rubs them the wrong way? Maybe they want to play for someone with some fire in his belly left.

We have 2 dominate starters and our bullpen is a mess. Also, our starters have had almost NO support from the offense. Congrats, we have built a team with one strong needed component.

I don't understand how you can have watched every game this season and not see this man is done...he has nothing left.

Your expectations are way too low. The expectation should be Omaha every year and that sometimes it's not going to happen.

needs to recruit better. It certainly is not for lack of facilities for sure. This program should never be down like this. We have not had 2 solid starters in the same season but a couple times, our hitting has been horrendous. No small ball and no long ball in conference play. In my opinion the biggest deficiency is pitching. No development and does not have good pitching rotation as for relief pitching. Program is very stale and a change is needed.

If you do not see an issue with players development, then I honestly don’t know what to say.. we have had too 5-10 recruiting classes for a while. This is why I don’t buy the we are young excuse. What happened to the last 3 years players? Paul served LSU but it is time to end it. He should have released Dunn several years ago. There has been little to no pitcher development under him. The studs we have had the last 8 years came in as studs and either stayed consistent or got worse.

It is Manieri at fault!!

He is goldbricking and too greedy to give up payola!!!

He is no longer good for LSU Baseball and his front running and lap running gained him many foes and detractors.

His effeminate tone and sanctimonious BS makes him easy to dislike!!!!!

Dumbest fricking rant excuse ever. Parity in sports is cyclical, there was a lot of parity in football before Alabama came along and started running the table every year. There was also a lot of parity in baseball the decade or so before LSU’s run in the 90’s

There’s always parity until a program steps up and becomes dominant, then when that program falls off we go back to square one. So tired of seeing idiots repeat “parity” like it’s somehow impossible these days for a program to step up and become dominant, kinda like Vanderbilt is in the process of doing as we speak

Weren't you the Johnny Jones shill?

You just love status quo and fear change. You're what's wrong with Louisiana in general.

I agree that the college baseball landscape has changed dramatically from our heyday. But, LSU has become stagnant in several areas- stadium, indoor facility (until recently) and coaching.

The game has changed and PM, much like Les, hasn’t changed. He is obviously a great coach. And deserved to be here. But his passion and connection to today’s players has passed him by.

We will never likely dominate a decade like we did under Skip- nor will anyone likely. We should have the expectations to not look like an overmatched midweek team during conference play though.
