U miss the point. Idgaf if we go 8-5 and 9-4 if the third year we win the west and have a shot at a sec title. We aren’t even doing that. Oh but hey we had some 10 win seasons. Bottom line is as much as I disliked miles you don’t fire him
For ed fricking orgeron. At least miles keeps your winning seasons going until you have the coach you’d want locked up. We completely shite the bed.

And yes miles did give us a lot of wins. That cannot be taken from him.

the thought that Ed fricking Orgeron was 3rd on the list to be the head coach at LSU would have been laughed off of this board.
Surely most all thought Ed was an obligatory HC choice in '16, even those puzzling fans onboard O-train now.
There wasn't the insane Eaux > Hertman movement until he went UT, IIRC.

I listed about 15 coaches we should have went after so it’s pointless
Now. Not our problem
Anymore. LSU shite the bed hiring o.

nope. the commonly held belief at tigerdroppings, 247, ATVS, and pretty much anywhere else you get your fix of LSU news was that O would have to finish out 7-1 or 8-0 to convince Alleva he was the man for the job.

I think I speak for most everyone on here, regardless of what your opinions are regarding happened thanksgiving weekend 2016, that when O lost to UF, his chances of getting the permanent gig were less than 1%.

I honestly thought that even he was undefeated as interim he wasn't gonna get the full time gig. I thought for sure an A.D. at a school like LSU would have to see a coach prove it at a smaller school first.

That percentage increased substantially sometime between "the Binder" and Herman and Jimbo making Alleva their bitch.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to football season. I renewed my tickets awhile back and I'm gonna drink some beer and have a good time. I'm sorry so many of you are miserable. It's really kind of sad.

so LSU is now only going to consider scum bags to be HC? I could handle Kiffin but the other two would be disasters.

Do you recall the two candidates for president of the United States in 2016? Anything is possible these days.

I will take a one yr self ban if this happens. They are already setting 6-6 bar so that when LSU is 8-4, they can say "see, 0 did such a great job or else we would be 6-6".

candidates will be

Lane Kiffin
Petrino
Freeze

Kiffin is about the only possibility on that list.

All aboard the Lane Train.

I'm now all in for selling our souls to get to the playoffs and not be mid-tier any longer while we pull in big talent.

You're confusing two separate events: 1) Firing Miles, 2) Hiring Orgeron.

Easy to say that after the fact

Guess we shouldn't have fired Dinardo or Johnny Jones either

Georgia shouldn't have fired Richt?

No coach should ever be fired because the school might not make a better hire after?

Ed is not getting fired if he goes 7-5.

If our athletic administration was the sort that would fire the HC for going 9-4 and then 7-5, they would also NOT have been the sort of administration that settled for hiring Ed Orgeron.

Problem is if he is 8-4,7-5 or anythin above that we arent going to fire him, hell im not sure we would get rid of him at 6-6
