Clay Travis "CFP rig job" against LSU

twitter thread

Rig job in effect by the CFB playoff committee: Wisconsin, Penn State & Michigan are ranked seven spots higher in CFB rankings than in AP or Coaches Poll. UF, Bama & AU are six spots lower in CFP than in AP or Coaches. Ohio State is being protected to keep LSU from one seed.

The Big Ten teams — except Minnesota who Ohio State didn’t play — are being insanely overvalued in the college football playoff rankings. All committee member ballots should have to be made public at end of year to make this transparent.
quote:
The one seed matters this year because the team seeded one, either LSU or Ohio State, would be a big favorite over Utah, OU or Baylor and get to avoid Clemson.

Lol, didn't Michigan need 2 overtimes to beat an unranked team?

UF's resume is nowhere near Wisconsin's resume.
Wisky has 3 top 20 wins, with a 30 point win on the road included
UF has a win over #11 at home

Cannot argue with that

This is ratings/TV driven...
Southeast markets are smaller, and going to watch no matter who is in these games.
Midwest and Mid-Atlantic need "top teams" in to garner viewers.

How are they being overvalued? Based on what?
What would Clay say if a B1G team was ranked #9 that lost to the only ranked teams they played and that's only bowl eligible wins were 2 7-5 and 1 6-6 team? Is that team ranked based on resume or "eye test"?

Congratulations to Clay Travis for being the first media head to spell out the obvious. Good for him. He's spot on.

Wisconsin also lost to 6-6 Illinois... a team that lost to Eastern Michigan.
Florida lost to @ #2 LSU and #4 (neutral site).

The big picture is they want Ohio st vs LSU matchup in the Championship game . I think the CFP committee is afraid Ohio st would lose to Clemson in the 1st round . Throwing a wrench in the whole picture .
