Or Dugas moves back to 2B

fricking A...if Dugas moves back to 2nd and can play it at least consistently average to above average and considering the fact that Paul kept skinny Cade as the DH for the most part....it goes to show how senile Paul was that he didn't put Bianco in LF, Gio at CF, and Dugas at 2B. When Gio goes down you slot Bianco to CF and skinny Cade to LF and probably get better by subtraction at DH in the long run.

Cliffs.....if Dugas can play average 2B and Paul didn't put him there that was dumb.

The big whole in your addition by subtraction theory: who would you put at DH that is a better hitter than Beloso? Everyone on the bench sucked at hitting.

A lineup of..

Crews RF
Morgan 1B
Berry 3B/DH
Dugas LF
Doughty DH/3B
Arnold 2B
Bianco CF
Thompson SS
Milazzo C

100 HRs just in that lineup next year.

What do you think?

What other incoming players can crack this lineup?

Interesting, stay like you are and don't go from good to great is how we should roll.

Great to have experience but everyone can get better so yes he will need to focus on development no matter who he has or where they come from.

If Pearson makes it to campus then you have to move Dugas or Bianco to 2B. But if we are just trying to get the best bats in the lineup regardless, Bianco can play SS and the OF would be Crews, Dugas, and Pearson. This would leave Arnold in the lineup.

Was Thompson not a freshman all SEC? Or did I dream that?

You missed the in the long run part.....it is conceivable that Drost could have been better than Beloso by the later part of the season with the amount of ABs that Cade had.

Uh, player development is a high priority with CJJ IMHO.

That solution still doesn’t help much cuz Beloso is still in the lineup and the OF gets worse with him out there.

So then we’d have a shitty left fielder that can’t hit AND a DH who can only hit fastballs.

Hell I’d rather put Drost in left then we’d have been back at square 1.

I was going with the fact that Beloso was gonna be in the lineup because…..Pulmonary.

Cannizzaro really built an impressive roster.

He’d be a great addition to our staff

I think Jobert will be the DH next year. Pearson could play LF. I don't see a position starting spot for Dugas at the moment as I believe Merriman is a better player and was a great 2nd baseman at LSUE last year.

It would be a fun problem to have with Dugas returning. The only real position would be LF again as I can't see Gavin beating out Doughty, Merriman or Berry for an IF spot. It will be fun to watch it play out. I hope Dugas returns for his senior year.

You do have a point here. Reminds me of when miles took over and won the natty with Saban’s players

I definitely hope he can improve the bullpen arms. That seemed to be a big difference from us and other Omaha teams.
