Based on Payton’s tone, TB is the next guy up.
UNLESS Brees announces his retirement the day after the season, there is NO F*CKING WAY that the Saints are going to pay TB $25 million -- which is what he will probably get on the open market.
Even if Brees does retire, I don't think that the Saints will pay TB that much, especially on any long-term contract.

A good QB can’t make up for no OL or talent on offense around him.
A lot of them get hurt so much we never learn how good they can be.
Please give some examples

Tua no longer in the 1st round. The boneheaded decision to play in the last 2 games probably cost him $50 mil

David Carr. Never had a shot.
Archie Manning, who was good, but never great because of his team.
Still drinking coffee, I’ll think of others.

I don't know. I have never heard of another head coach having to go to the owner and beg to get the same amenities that other teams get like they had to do in Cinci. They penny pinch over there on everything.

A good QB will turn around a franchise. If he’s that good it won’t matter where he goes
Oh he can put up some stats and make the playoffs from time to time maybe but a shitty franchise like Cincinnati won’t give him the support to win and could hurt his development

Your best example is Steve Young.
Never had a shot in Tampa Bay. Gets traded to the 49ers for a second, a fourth, and $1 million. Goes to the Hall of Fame.

I think there are also a few examples of QBs who I think would’ve been good but went to the Browns or similar and were DOA. And we’ll never know.
That’s my biggest fear.

Please no. I don't want him to get beat up.

but it would be kind of cool for Burrow to get to go back to Ohio to play.
His dad is from Mississippi...

Whoever drafts him, I hope they trade up and grab a beast of a left tackle in the same round.
That would be amazing. It's not everyday you see a team trade up in the 1st round and still have more 1st round picks.
2020 could actually be that year but only the Dolphins have the picks to do it and will start high enough to do it. They will have a top 5 pick to begin with and have two more 1st rounders and 14 total picks.
Plus, if any team deserves to draft a franchise QB, it's them. They haven't had anybody since Marino, and it would be awesome to see Burrow go from giving Saban fits to giving Belichick fits.

That’s kind of a catch 22 because a lot of the examples will be a QBs that you can write off as the QB just wasn’t that good to begin with and in same cases maybe that’s true.
Look like a guy like Vinny Testaverde, he was terrible with the shite show Bucs but later in his career with better teams he was really good

Redskins maybe. Who else?
Yes, I know he won't last that long in the draft but I don't want the Saints to face Burrow twice a year, at all, period.

Reaching far back for those huh
Carr was never good. He was a career backup even after he changed teams

...but not much worse cities. I know he's from Ohio, but I wouldn't wish Cincinnati on anybody.

I don't blame them one bit. Burrow is the best QB in the draft.

Ehh. Not MUCH worse
Cheap arse owner, decreased staff and resources compared to a lot of franchises. One of the worst o lines in football in awhile. Hopefully they go for Young.
All of those are correct. If a savvy talent evaluator can wrestle draft control from Brown they can build a winner there. 5 years ago they had one of the best rosters in the NFL. Lewis just couldn't get over the playoff hump.
Now they have a terrible o-line, linebackers, and their DBs leave a lot to be desired. Decent receivers and RBs.

These are worse than the Redskins or Bengals to you? That’s silliness.
