Cincinnati beat writer Justin Williams comments on new OC Denbrock via The Athletic

What does Denbrock bring to
LSU?
Justin Williams, Cincinnati beat writer:
Denbrock oversaw significant
improvement by Cincinnati's offense
during his five seasons as coordinator,
helping to elevate the Bearcats from a run-
heavy, ball-control unit to a balanced
attack that was a top-10 scoring offense in
the country heading into the College
Football Playoff.
He garnered his share of detractors and
criticism for game plans viewed as too
predictable or conservative at times. But
he also shepherded considerable upgrades
in talent on the recruiting trail and in the
portal and helped develop the likes
Desmond Ridder, Alec Pierce, Josh Whyle
and others on the field.

Could be because of the talent available to him. We will see.

What was their SOS?

Denbrock took a QB that was ranked 1,547 in his recruiting class and designed an offense that allowed him to take his team undefeated into the CFB playoffs for the first time in history

I'm guessing that other than Notre Dame most of the teams on their schedule were ranked lower than 54.

How boring and predictable.

I don’t like how he is in his 60’s and was in BK’s wedding. Similar to Cam Cameron.

All 3 of these guys will be day 1 and 2 draft picks. This speaks volumes to be enough

Notre Dame, Indiana, and Central Florida were higher, SMU was one spot below them.

I mean, The Rant tells me LSU’s 176th ranked basketball SOS is solid, so…

I am no expert and I happy for change, but if you go back and look at Cincinati's O throughout the season, I noticed the receivers making nice catches, but with wide open receiver or tons of space. That is either a stellar route runner or playing crappy DB's. I expected it was the later.
Playing Bama, proved my biggest concern, all of those completions they enjoyed throughout their season are contested or 50/50 at best in the SEC against top tier DB's. That makes their stats much different and the outcome of those games way more predictable and not in a good way.
Denbrock will have better receivers, a better OL and better QB, BUT what he did worked when he had a superior roster to his competition. The SEC West is FULL of talent EVERYWHERE and he won't always have that privilege.

Thanks for the info. Three teams were ranked higher than 54 and the other nine lower.
I'm not commenting on Dembrock's abilities directly but pointing out that a schedule filled with top ten roster teams is a bit different from what he faced at Cincinnati.

That's more higher ranked rosters than UGA and Bama had to play.

Are you saying Cincinnatti played a group of teams with superior rosters than what Bama faced in the SEC west?
Everywhere I look Cincinnati barely makes it into the top 80 in strength of schedule for 2021.

Sure and let’s ignore the talent gap between Cincinnati and Bama and just assume it’s all the OCs fault. Because LSU fans can’t help but to shite on their own program.

Last I checked Houston is pretty damn good. Ask Auburn

With each passing year and the ongoing changes in college football and the athletes who play the game, it's getting harder and harder to assess the outcomes of bowl games.
It's not uncommon for a highly motivated team looking to establish program credibility to take it to a superior team that's simply going through the motions. Often without season-long starters.
Bowl games were once highly competitive games designed as both a reward to the players and as a way of establishing sectional bragging rights. Sadly, that is no longer the case.

Yep = for most players that was the epitome of their athletic careers.
