This thread, especially the OP, is a perfect example of the "complain complain but offer nothing constructive" which is so common today.

Suck it up, snowflake. Chris Blair is the voice of the Tigers. He's a pro. You are just going to have to get used to it.

Second year calling LSU games and you want to Crucify the guy. He does a good job, gets the names right and you know what's going on. I've heard excitement in his voice and that will grow with time! Let's remember....keep the important things, the important thing! Tigers have played 3 good games in a row!

You either have the passion for LSU football or you don't.

I wish we could have found a local guy who has LSU in his blood.

Meh, Larry Munson was from Minnesota and Eli Gold is from New York.

Vin Scully had very tempered emotion for decades and is beloved. Hawk Harrelson on the other hand is universally reviled for his blatant homerism.

Can't please everybody, I suppose.

No, but Hawthorne was perfect when it come to enthusiasm. He made the game exciting if you had to listen on the radio.

Hawthorne : "He drops back to pass....oh and would you look at this! There's not a Tiger any where near the receiver! He's wide open and catches the ball, finally running out of bounds for an 6 yard gain. My goodness gracious LSU is a terrible team! The world is ending and I'm glad because I just cannot watch them give up these huge plays like that right there." (Then Moreau drones on an on about some stupid, obvious shite for 35 seconds until the next snap)

You forgot to add the parts where he gets the players wrong or the penalty wrong.
Hawthorne couldn’t carry Blair’s jock. All Hawthorne had going for him was being retardedly enthusiastic. He had the type of radio voice that people mock for being so stereotypical. Blair does fine and will only get better.

I think he's a pro and I've tried to get into it I just can't though.
Maybe I am not over missing the voice of my childhood- Jim Hawthorne and maybe someday I'll get into CBS voice.
Listening to Lafayette radio the other day, and heard Ben Love. He's not a guy who's anywhere close to ready for a job like this but he truly has a voice and a passion fo LSU sports. Maybe he can replace Blair when they're both ready to move on

Strongly disagree. I can listen and know where the ball is at all times with him.

Fergerson was the GOAT.

It would be money well spent for Chris to hire Hanny as a consultant to make the whole LSU broadcast much better.

I listened to it on the radio yesterday due to having to drive during the game

It is very difficult to tell the magnitude of the play based on Blairs call. There was a few touchdown plays by both teams that I thought were just simple 4-5 yard plays

People who didn't have LsU blood:
Nick Saban
Skip Bertman
Dale Brown
Mark Emmert
Les Miles

They turned out okay

Coaching and calling the games for radio aren't exactly the same thing though, are they?
