I agree with this post. Just doesn’t have much passion. He would do better in a bigger market doing pro games or something.

Hawthorne : "He drops back to pass....oh and would you look at this! There's not a Tiger any where near the receiver! He's wide open and catches the ball, finally running out of bounds for an 6 yard gain. My goodness gracious LSU is a terrible team! The world is ending and I'm glad because I just cannot watch them give up these huge plays like that right there." (Then Moreau drones on an on about some stupid, obvious shite for 35 seconds until the next snap)
That is perfect Hawthorne

You need to listen to AM1280's (New Orleans) advertisement for Tulane football broadcasts. Their announcer, when calling a Tulane touchdown, sounds as if he is calling the winning touchdown for the home team in the 3rd OT period of the Super Bowl. He would be your choice if you want an enthusiastic "homer".

Disagree. Chis Blair makes a great call. Paints a nice picture on the radio. The math in terms of down and distance always adds up when Blair makes the call.

John Ferguson is the GOAT and if you dont like Blair, EVERY LSU game is on TV, so just watch it and STFU!

I got 99 problems, but Chris Blair ain't one of them. Three game winning streak, and people are bitching about a guy who is more successful in his field than they are.

I wish we could have found a local guy who has LSU in his blood.

He is no Hawthorne or Ferguson, but he is fine.

Blair knows exactly what he’s doing . He can make a sports call without the Barnum and Bailey , horn and a rubber nose approach . A-la JH .

Hawthorne butchered calls constantly and had a weird nasally voice too. I was glad when he retired.

His "side car" catch phrase is cringe worthy

The Youtube page that syncs up the radio call and broadcast of old games will wipe away a lot of Hawthorne nostalgia. The opponent had a receiver with no one within 30 yards 2-3 times every game and the misidentifying players didn't end with Jack Hunt.

I like him....give the man time he will only get better...

He was the worst baseball radio guy in the country the last 5-7 years of his career.
Chris is fantastic with baseball.

I like him a lot better than Hawthorne.

There is no distinction in his voice.
