Jesus guys you don’t like shite! Why are you an LSU fan? Chris Blair does a great job and will get better every season. He came from a college that didn’t have much to get excited about.

Agree with the OP. Too slow in calling what's happening. Reminds me of John Ferguson when I was a kid. I hear the roar of the crowd and have no clue what's happening for a few seconds. Play-by-play guys need to be very quick and immediate with their calls. And he doesn't show enough excitement for the big plays. He sounds too pre-packaged.

Strongly agree. Very professional. Sounds like he's calling a game he has zero rooting interest in. Which I suppose is true.

This is one of the few places in sports where I want to hear a homer on the airways. Not necessarily someone from Louisiana, but someone who is genuinely passionate about the team.

Are you kidding???? He is an incredible improvement over Hawthorne, the most negative guy ever to do LSU sports. He is fantastic.

I thought he showed a lot of excitement last week against Auburn, but listening to his replays last night I would say yeah he seemed to be lacking. Who knows why, nor do I really care.

I like Chris Blair. His broadcasts are well structured from his opening to the ending of the games that he calls.

I think he does very well.

I agree. He almost sounds neutral as if he wasn't calling the game for the LSU sports radio network.

Give it time the longer he's here the more of a fan he will be and the excitement that you seek will come...

I have never liked Chris Blair and he is sterile. Even his emotion (when he shows it) is just so obviously fake.

His "Touchdown Tigers" is pathetic.

He just is not ever going to be accepted like Jim Hawthorne was. He has no emotional attachment to LSU and it comes across that way in his broadcasts.

Was driving last night and had the game on the radio. I could not distinguish the 5 yard run from the 50 yard run from Blair. You'd hear a run by Williams to the LSU 45, and then next thing LSU is at the Ole Miss 5 or so after a big Guice run but I missed it because it just blended in with every other play. I was like, when did they get downfield so fast? Also often did not know time remaining or score. I think he has a great voice but be more informative both in substance and in tone.

I really have, he is just just not a football guy. Baseball is ok.

Doug Moreau

I've noticed he doesn't talk nearly as much with Blair as he did with Hawthorne. God he used to drone on and on about the most obvious shite, stepping all over Jim's call and sounding like some high school radio announcer. So glad Chris Blair told him to dial it waaaaay back and let him do his job.

Why? When these guys like Eli Gold start screaming and getting excited I can't understand but about every 5th word they spit out. Of course we could always go back to Jack Hunt..........

It's 2017 why don't you just stream the game?

Hawthorne : "He drops back to pass....oh and would you look at this! There's not a Tiger any where near the receiver! He's wide open and catches the ball, finally running out of bounds for an 6 yard gain. My goodness gracious LSU is a terrible team! The world is ending and I'm glad because I just cannot watch them give up these huge plays like that right there." (Then Moreau drones on an on about some stupid, obvious shite for 35 seconds until the next snap)

Same play :

Blair : "Quarterback has the snap and drops back...he tosses it towards the sideline and he has a man there who tries to turn upfield, but is knocked out of bounds for a 4 yard gain, it's third and 3."

Guess which one I prefer.

Thought the same while watching the highlights. He just isn’t a good fit here. His call of the football game would actually bore me if I had to listen to him. No excitement in his voice whatsoever, and his “Touchdown Tigers” sounds like he’s in pain. Hanigriff is almost better if he didn’t have the monotone voice.
