Thoughts and prayers. My family has joined those contributing. Very sad. I am always proud when Tiger Nation does the right thing.

Saw on the husband's Facebook page that someone else also has a GFM account for them. It was just up above 22k. There's also something being set up at a bank for donations. Those kids will need it all. I hope they weren't in debt.
The husband's Facebook page is heartbreaking. Lots of pictures of their trip and a post just before they got on the road home. Their last weeks together were certainly happy ones.

We may be jackasses but we are good jackasses. Praying for this family.

They should be OK with hte funding.
There may have been some life insurance policies in force.
Also something to consider. There will be a wrongful death claim on behalf of their mother as a guset passenger and they will be able to make a claim against the auto insurer as survivors. Dependent upon the limits there may also be a possible underinsured motorist claim and stacking of policies if allowed under Georgia law. So the financial needs to get them through schoolshould be manageable . Hopefully ther is a trustee appointed and they get propr tax advice if any of this is taxable income.

You obviously don't have a law degree. One car accident with your parent driving the other parent in their own car. Cannot sue dead people and no point suing your own inheritance.

Wrong. The poster obviously does have a law degree (edit...he’s an insurance professional) . The analysis is on point...we’re off topic, but I needed to correct misinformation.
And that claim will not require suit, most likely. The liability insurer will pay all available coverage once the investigation is completed.
