i was actually at UGA law school for Curley’s first game as LSU coach. Was in the stands and recall that we looked undisciplined and poorly prepared from the very beginning of that game. Lost 31-10.
I knew we were in trouble with Curley right then and there.

Curley was statistically the WORST coach in LSU history. Never had a winning season; never had a winning SEC record.
And he was a Aggie.
We tried to go to the Carquest bowl in 93.
All we had to do was beat Arkansas.
With a bowl berth on the line in the season finale, Arkansas came to Baton Rouge and gouged the Tigers for 412 yards rushing in a 42-24 triumph, leaving LSU with its fifth consecutive losing campaign.
All we talked about at this time was how good we could be if stopped letting all the La. players leave to go out of state to Nebraska, FSU, Colorado, Oklahoma etc

Any 90’s kid who was introduced to and fell I love with LSU football under Hallman should wear that shite like a badge of honor.

Curley was the head man during my childhood.

I was there. I remember hoping to beat Arky at seasons end just to get to a bowl. If you'd have told me that I would live to see 3 football national championships, I would never have believed you. Winning spoils us and we lose perspective. Look at Nebraska, Texas, USC, Miami. It is difficult to maintain excellence.

In the curly years games would take 2.5 hours because they weren’t on ESPN.

We are not a complete rebuild at this point but we could be after the rest of this season. Sadly O has to go. Maybe move him into administration as he loves LSU but he seems like a spectator standing on the sidelines cheering his arse off but very little if any coaching. Just sad for him.

Checking in. Many times while living in Texas during the Hallman years I sat in bars broadcasting LSU games in quiet drunken depression.

Check…..but Curley teams could run the ball better than the 2021 Tigers.

Was in Athens for Hallman's inaugural butt-kicking.

I had been living out of state, my first game back in Tiger Stadium in over 5 years was the 58-3 Florida game; thanks Curley.

Check.
His four seasons coincided with my four years as an LSU student. Sat through all four quarters of every home game of that fiasco.

Born in 83 so definitely remember Hallman. Made the 03 championship even sweeter having suffered as a child.

IN.
The highlight of his career was Beating Ole Miss, Bama, and Tulane back to back to back.

Not long after being hired, Curley said LSU was the weakest team he had ever seen
