Option 1 - Take
Option 2 - Bunt
There should be no option 3.
Bad move

I would have preferred a take at 2-0 actually.

Damn we shite the bed at the plate tonight.

I would have had him take the next pitch. Make him throw a strike he was squeezing it but oh well.

He shouldn't have to be given the take sign he should know to take a strike

Hit-and-run was option 3. And with Rhymes the contact hitter and a 2-0, it was likely the best option. Advances the runner.

U obv dont watch much ball.... A player that has zero sacs on year is NEVER bunting in that situation. Granted taking is a better option but no way does any team let one of their best hitters bunt

Pussy shite??? Gtfo here. Bunting is a part of the game, it's the right call in that situation or at least take a strike and then hit and run there. Roll ur arse out here lil daddy with that stupid shite.

Questionable. Line out to anyone in infield gets you a DP. We should have played small ball and made sure we got a run in scoring position

We had a chance to beat UCLA playing their own small ball game.

You have to look at the whole situation, and that's including who's at bat. Raph Rhymes. Notorious for hitting into DP after DP after DP this season. What has a better chance of happening? Him getting the bat on the ball and Katz advancing or him getting into a DP? 2011 Raph =/= 2012 Raph. I might get shite for this, but the way we hit the ball tonight, I would have made Bregman put the bunt down too.

If this is the case, why even bother giving him the bunt signal?

Loving the hindsight is 20-20 crowd.

Rhymes had shown bunt...drawing the 3rd baseman in. A great hitter had a 2-0 count against what is typically a great control pitcher. Rhymes very much figured to get the best pitch of the at bat in that situation....and he did...and he swung...and he hit it pretty hard....but it went right to the drawn in 3rd baseman. If that ball is 2 feet to the right, its a hit and everyone is a hero.

This is fricking ignorant. Rhymes doesn't have the power to take it out TD Ameritrade, and he doesn't have very good power to the gaps. With a runner on 1st you bunt a guy like that EVERY TIME because he isn't going to get the runner across.

well you wanted to bunt a .430 OBP guy in the 4th inning which is totally insane. This was a different situation, but I am still fine with swinging away.

Depends on the hitter. If he was hot like Jones was against OK absolutely. A guy with no power, low ba and average foot speed I am bunting all the way.
