It's certainly not a foregone conclusion that we win a regional. Who we draw will be a factor.

Or Skenes is going to lose a marble game?
Or a team is going to beat LSU twice (one with Floyd on the mound) with their 4th and 5th best starters and a bullpen that has pitched one more game than LSU?

The critical thing for LSU is to not draw a that four seed team who has one super ace pitcher and forces us to start Skenes game. Floyd should be able to handle any four seed to a few runs and allow an easy win.

LSU has used its ace exactly 1 time in game 1 of the regional since the super regional format was invented in 1999. Kurt Ainsworth vs. Ben Sheets.

Honestly, I don’t know what to expect from our pitchers or hitters.
This isn’t the 91 or 93 team where you went into a regional with excitement and giddiness. I think this regional is going to be like having wisdom teeth removed.

I'm not claiming anything. This team is certainly good enough to make it to Omaha. But, if they find themselves in the loser's bracket of a regional or super regional it will be a difficult climb out with our bullpen.

And they were a 2 seed in that regional. LSU has never pitched their ace when they were the 1 seed in a regional.
