Smith is listed at 6-1, same as Jeudy and taller than Ruggs

Serious question because I haven’t read all 3,000 pages of the Shelvin threads - is it confirmed that he is signing with an agent and plans to enter the draft in 2021?

I ask because he would have at least one year of eligibility remaining. Two years if the NCAA is adding a year for players who opt out (I’m not certain what they’ve announced on this). Given that he was a draft-eligible RS sophomore last year and chose to come back, is it at all possible that he comes back for the 2021 season?

I realize it may not be likely, especially if he spends the next 6 months not playing football and thinking about the money he can make in the draft. But you could make the argument that if COVID is his true concern, it would make sense to come back and improve his draft stock.

My only problem with Chase is the statements and the timing. He and his family came out and said he was 110% playing and all that shite and he pulls out this far into camp.

I understand his decision, the timing and circumstances are kinda sketch though.

Shelvin is a big wtf. He was the definition of "good season and good combine and he'll skyrocket". Hope it works out for him though.

If both young men opted out over C19 concerns, then I would believe Chase made the wrong decision and Shelvin made the correct one. Of course that’s based solely on what we’ve been told in regards to a persons weight and how difficult the virus can be to shake.

Hate to see them go.

I don’t know what makes him 3rd string. Latest projections have him as the #1 or # 2 DT in the next draft. He is also far from inconsistent.

Chase made the right call by quitting on his team? If you have kids I hope you don’t teach them that way of thinking.

I’ll definitely be teaching them to choose securing the bag on generational wealth while they have the chance over doing the same thing for free

Anyone who doesn’t 100% agree with this statement is a communist. This is 100% capitalism and is as American as it gets. Go America! Get yours while the gettin is good!

The NCAA is granting everyone, whether they play this year or not, a free pass for 2020 and will not count it against anyone's eligibility. Don't expect to see Shelvin back, but he'd have two years left to play regardless.

For the sake of the argument, what if Chase played this year and got seriously injured and falls in the draft?

For the sake of argument, how many top draft picks got hurt last year and feel in the draft. For that matter, how many in the past 5 years.

Yes, it's a risk. A calculated one that likely leans in his direction. Everything is a trade off.

Derek Stingley Jr could say the same thing. ...
Yes, he could. I mean, people were floating the idea of Lawrence sitting out after his frosh year. It's not completely crazy. It's just that it presumes the player gets close to zero personal utility out of just being a college athlete.

There is no such thing as generational wealth in a rookie season playing for the NFL. Last years top WR taken will make close to 4 million dollars all in if he hits his roster bonuses this year. If he has a career ending injury that’s it, the NFL is not the NBA or MLB, your contract isn’t guaranteed. If Chase would get hurt at LSU he could cash out insurance policies up to just under 7 mil total and still have a chance to play in the NFL. You guys believe In a myth just to excuse players because you worship them.

Still very much his choice to make. Deal with it.

They both made the right call when you don't really have a call to make.

For the sake of argument, how many years in the past 50 have been half assed put together seasons that may or may not even be completed?
