We all know he a bad coach . His family deleted their accounts on here so you won’t get much pushback with that statement

Its much more relaxing on the side of the fence that doesn't care about basketball.

I think he is a good lower-tier coach.

I think that at this level, he can't recruit the talent to overcome his coaching deficiencies and can't coach well enough to overcome talent deficiencies.

It turns out that is a bad combination, especially in a stacked SEC.

2.7 million reasons it is going to be difficult to replace him.
When will hiring be based on achieving performance goals and not attendance participation payments.
Is Mat a DEI hire, guess not he is a white male but gee his performance stats makes him appear to be a great DEI hire.

He’s landed several top ranked recruits. Nearly all of his HS kids have been top 100 players. It seems like his talent identification is the problem more than recruiting.

In this day and age, recruiting is going to be more about how much money you can raise to bid towards top talent. Considering he’s in 24/7 witness protection and you rarely even know he exists outside of standing still on the sidelines for game night, he’s not very good at fund raising either.

he identifies talent ok. We are loaded with sixth man defenders. He doesn’t build a team. His roster management may have worked in the SEC 10 years ago. We are decent in a game that is never going to be played in the manner we could compete.

He’s a nice guy though. Maybe he just needs more time

Had the over. Thought 10 minutes in I was good. Went 7 minutes just up and down the court.

What was the over total you bet?

I had a no sweat parlay on DK and hit UGA -8.5 and over 141.5.

What site?

I checked both FD and DK. I placed UGA ML on FD with better odds and then the no sweat on DK, only because it was a no sweat. But both had the o/u at 141.5. 3 points is a pretty big shift.

That money is a sunk cost. He's getting paid next year's salary whether he coaches a game or not. LSU is not "saving" anything by keeping him next year except for one season where they don't have to, in essence, pay two coaches (McMahon and a new HC)

Probably about the same time the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.

No coach is going to agree to a largely "incentive based" contract except maybe those who are desperate for any job. On the flip side, no school is going to offer a largely incentive based contract to an in demand coach because they know another school will simply offer that coach a guaranteed contract, which he will accept.

It's basic supply and demand market principles.

I would agree that he is over his head in the SEC, could he go have success somewhere else with very low expectations? Sure.
