Are we going to be a stepping stone for Will Wade or will he be here long-term? Is there any chance Alleva doesn't frick this up?

As has been stated in other threads, he has a 6 year $2.5M/yr fully guaranteed deal both ways. So if Wade decides to exit, the school has to pay us a big buyout. I imagine the deal gets even sweeter after this year or especially next.

Like for the entire rest of his career? Probably unlikely.

I hope not. We all saw Trent Johnson and Charlie Weiss etc. etc. Let's see a couple of years before we rush to redo what we've already done.

There is a zero % chance. Haven't you heard? The sky is falling at LSU.

It's pretty easy:

1) Pay the man.

2) Give him that facilities he needs.

3) Stay out of his way and let him do his job.

With that being said: Alleva will frick it up soon enough.

Wade seems like the type of coach that wants to establish his own legacy as opposed to following in the footsteps of a coach K or Tom Izzo. That being said with this administration nothing would surprise me. Wade knows the potential for us to be a Florida type basketball program is there. I just hope he stays for like a decade or so and realizes he’ll probably get a statue next to shaq if he wins enough

Can the man finish one season as coach before you people start worrying he will leave?

Is this how you guys act every time a woman agrees to a date with you?

if you think the " basketball" schools aren't coming after him soon, then you are fooling yourself. They need to lock him up with a huge buyout

$ is not the only things, except for young people.

Yes, LSU can not be the low man, but depending on Wade's views and likes LSU may not need exorbitant amounts of money.

Dale loved LSU and stayed ... a lot of coaches get attached to a program THEY built.

Louisville will be hiring this year. I don't think Wade will be on their radar yet. They are the richest basketball school in the country and money will be no object. Wade is likely a little young for them. That's a monster job competing in state with Calipari.

I don't know of any blue bloods that will be in the market the next few years.

He will be here at least 5 years as long as we pay him. I think he still needs to prove he can win big before a big time school comes calling

Zero. As with football, we aren't one of the anointed teams. He'll go to UK or Duke, after their coaches retire, and we'll get some dipshit fake-homer shrimp boat captain.

Its more than show me the money. You want to keep wade? Build lsu basktball into a dynasty? You have to make a commitment to basketball. Facilities. Resources. Whatever wade tells us we need to compete. Then pay him on top of it. I for one think we should go all in and do everything it takes. I just do not trust alleva with all this.
