Chad and his family have my prayers. There is more to life than football and baseball. I am sick at heart for him.

Great news for Chad. Hopefully he is able to make a living in baseball. Didn't someone draft him fairly late this year just in case things didn't work out for him in football.

Yes. Milwaukee Brewers, 50th Round, 1509th overall pick. LINK

I'm from New Orleans, and I know we don't have great hospitals. Simmer down.

thanks for the info. Yeah the last thing we are worried about is his future sports career, but it would be a damn shame if he couldnt at least play baseball. I am sure sports has been his whole life since he was a kid.

Just playing devil's advocate here but this should be a lesson to all athletes to put an effort into their education because one day they'll have to give up sports.

but still may be able to pitch and play baseball(this is what he told me, I told him its way to early to tell).

That means he could still play for LSU....OK. I'm getting way ahead here. Just get well, Chad.

For someone who claims to be from NOLA, you certainly seem to be ignorant of the quality of trauma care at Charity/UH.

Charity/UH is and has been widely regarded as one of the better trauma centers around. Practice makes perfect and there is a lot of trauma in NOLA. As far as orthopedic trauma, the best places are Harbour View in Seattle and Shocky Trauma in Indy.

LSU baseball Coach Paul Mainieri says giants rookie S Chad jones is"like superman to us"so its hard to picture him in hospital and surgery

I agree. I can still picture him running off the field, chestbumping after overpowering the Longhorns in relief at last year's CWS.
