The ONLY bright spot in all of this for me is it MIGHT get Eric Reid on the field faster. He and Loston will be murderers back there at some point.

guaranteed money

Very little in the 3rd round.

He turned down more in signing bonus from baseball than he will get in guaranteed money from his first contract as a 3rd round selection.

Of course, that's just my prediction, I could be wrong. He could be a 1st round selection if some GM has brain cancer for breakfast that day.

Thanks for the handful of memories Chad, good luck.

I'm of the belief that he made the hype. To me, Chad Jones wasn't one of those guys like an RS or even KW where message boards were littered with his name from January 1 to signing day. He was a solid national recruit that I was happy to have, but didn't really see him as a game changer. That said, in 2007 he blew up the football world...I kinda thought he was our best player on the championship team on defense...as a freshman. He dropped off the map last year, but came back this year and made major impact plays...I thought that Chad had games where he turned it on and games where he didn't show at all this year. That said, I consider him an integral part of our D. I still think he could break the first round...just have to see how he does at the combine. But either way, he'll get paid. He will always be a great Tiger in my eyes and I wish him well.

Didn't anybody else get the feel that when Rahim was out there with his parents and Chad at the Arkansas game that this was a farwell for Rahim and Chad......not a big surprise IMO.....loss for sure but nobody is irreplaceable

Don't think this is the best move for this young man. Good luck to him but he should've played another year of football and baseball. He would have gone pretty high in either draft if he'd done this.

All depends on how he works out

if he runs a sub 4.5 he could go in the 1st or early 2nd

what about the 93-yard kickoff return for a TD in the same game?

The one that almost cost us the game? I mean peolpe really dont realize that him scoring on that so quickly gave Mo St the time they need to pull all that shananigans at the end.

since when is he a lock for the 3rd round? yal realize he graded much higher than that which is likely the main reason he is leaving. i think alot of our fans really under appreciate this guy. he was played badly out of position for 2 years by the old defensive staff, not his fault.

he got to play free safety for one year and got better as the year went on. he had an awesome game against arkansas and he was the best player on our D in the cap one bowl. to me he was coming around and was going to be an all sec guy next year. i think he'll go late first, 2nd round at worst. too much potential.
