Do we have any update on Aleah and Tori? Aleah looked great in 101 and should be in bars, beam, and floor based on what we saw. Is Tori expected to be recovered in time to compete at all this season?

Just excited to see three Nationally Ranked programs in the PMAC this Winter/Spring.

Emma Jean Kelley just competed bars for Arkansas. Had issues on the dismount but I’m happy she’s healthy and competing.

Watching the SEC meets early, KJ and Blakely from Florida have actually been the most impressive freshmen so far.
Sunisa Lee and Wong didn't score as well in their debuts

Aleah is gonna compete a lot for us, I am assuming 2-3 events, not sure about AA. It seems like she is going to be a mainstay on floor and beam. Her bars is getting there and could maybe break the lineup at some point. I think vault is deep although not sure if her 1.5 is ready yet.
Tori likely is not going to have a very big role this season. Seem to be working her back slowly coming back from of her nagging injuries.

Suni Lee is either going to be a big meet superstar or just crumble from all of the pressure that she's already had

So does anyone know why Aleah wasn’t there tonight? And yes, what about Chase?
I’d like to see more of the freshmen and sophomores out there, even taking the spots of some seniors. They will only get better, while the seniors, I think, have reached their potential and have not been very consistent.

It must have been illness or quarantine because she wasn’t even on the sides. I dont think tori was there either and don’t they live together?

Tori and Chase were both there....Aleaha and Kam were out

So…. my overall thought was that I was absolutely crushed that we didn’t get 197, because I was so sure we would after two great rotations. And vault, even though we didn’t have all sticks (and don’t need to right now), showed a ton of promise and the vaults looked great. KJ will be a star there and on floor. Also bars looked much improved in terms of fine details like landings, feet together on dismount, etc. I do agree with an above poster that maybe Sami getting hurt (in the same way, again) put a damper on things, although I wouldn’t say you felt the deflation in the PMAC.
Now beam. I am willing to give it sometime since it was the beginning of the season. But. It.Has.Got.To.Be.Better. Pressure sets out of the wazoo - I am going to withhhold judgment but it is disappointing - and I don’t think regean hasn’t wobbled on her leap series in a year and a half. you won’t win that way.
Floor - sigh, I suppose we would have made 197 without alyona’s weird leap combination mishap, but what a missed opportunity. I know it won’t be close to our ultimate lineup - but does anyone have any word on Bryant? I wasn’t paying attention during warmup so didn’t notice what happened, so let’s cross our fingers that she’s alright. Again, KJ will be a star on this event a d I love her routine. The way scores were flying at florida though (and Michigan yesterday) … we will have a lot of
Work to do to be competitive this year.

For the first meet thought the team did really well. Our worst rotation, bars, is already light years better. Our strengths are vault and floor. Beam I’m not worried about because of depth. Insert Dunne and Aleah we will be alright. Because of the talent it’s championship or bust with this team. Buckle up

I would disagree that our worst rotation is/has been bars. It most certainly was beam last year (bars was probably third or the floor). I will say it looks much improved over last year, though, so I agree.
I also agree that I have hope for this team more than I have had for the previous two years, because we can see where people can fill in the holes - especially in consistency on beam.

You’re probably right about beams vs floor. I’m a newbie to the gymnastics. It just seem like bars cost us a lot of meets last year. Then all the pressure put on beam because the bars rotation was so terrible. I could be wrong about this too but it seems like beam is the hardest rotation to be consistent on. Didnt mention this last post but Kjs vault and floor were eye popping. Was she highly recruited? That’s the depth and talent I’m talking about. She’s just a freshman, combined with 5 solid super seniors.

Sorry - in my above comment, I meant last year bars was our third worst of the four (not floor). I think you are right our deficit was bars and beam - bars looks much improved, but beam looks much the same.
100 agree that KJ is a superstar. Have a differing opinion on whether the super seniors are solid - but I am hoping for the best!

Does anyone know why Elena's floor score was so low? I thought she would score in the 9.8s. I'm really routing for her to be a mainstay in one of the lineups. I think she's a beautiful gymnast and her scores always seem lower than it seems like they should.

Had to record it so I didn't post last night.
I live like 15 minutes from Centenarys campus, it is an incredibly tiny school. I didn't know what to expect as far as level of competition, I was surprised they did as good as they did even though they got blown out. I felt so bad for that girl who landed on her but on the Vault. I mean she barely had enough strength to jump to the mat. They shouldn't have her doing that event. She was pretty good on the floor though.
I can't remember. Was Bridget a strong point on beam last year? I felt like she was one of the seniors that was getting a bit of a pass on being inconsistent because Jay was sticking with the seniors. I'm probably wrong, my memory is so bad.

Bridget is actually the most consistent of those super seniors on beam. She hasn’t fallen probably in at least two years abs has gotten a lot better over those two years. That is one of the reasons why I am going to give this beam team another week or two to settle in, because maybe some of that, especially for her, was pre-meet jitters/feeling nervous after Sami’s fall.

Anything on the injuries? Ligaments can take forever to heal.
