1997 LSU had Faulk, Collins, and Mealy at RB.

Man, the fan base back then was awesome.

He became a legend and three football games. I can't think of anyone else that did that. I remember watching Hawaii vs Notre Dame and they were talking about Cecil Collins.

And then he burst through that window to get some puddy.....

Didn't his grandmother hit the lottery twice? Don't think it was a powerball but she racked up two big lottery wins twice from what I can remember while he was still in HS.

Thanks for posting. I had forgotten all about the run where he lost his shoe. That one's a classic.
Seriously though, I think people tend to view his brief tenure through rose colored glasses. Maybe it's because there was so much hope for him and his career was cut short before people could get enough of seeing him play.
This may not be popular, but I would suggest that Fournette was easily better than Collins in his time at LSU. Not even close.

Collins was Marshawn Lynch before Lynch was BeastMode.
Sumbitch he was a flash in the pan.
Thanks for the link.

I wouldn't mind having a few of those O-linemen from '97 on this team.
