This is good news and we should take a win when we can get one.
However, this also shows that the mRNA covid vaccine demonstrates a powerful off-target effect.
In this case, the off-target effect is beneficial, but are there other powerful off-target effects that are not beneficial?

Not disputing anything in your post. I would argue that the problems with how our elected officials behave are mostly due to systemic issues. Misaligned incentives deliver dysfunctional governance.
Hopefully whenever the current system is overhauled or replaced the next one will have even greater protections in place for the citizens keeping in mind all we the things have seen our “leaders” do since the 18th century, but I am not very optimistic.

1. Teach Americans to value nutrition over flavor. Greatly improved dietary habits throughout the population would drastically lower disease burden.

LOL. Covid patients were not in isolated beds if tested positive. They were sent home to deal with it and told to "call your doctor if it got worse".
People sick enough to be admitted to the hospital are admitted to the hospital, whether positive for COVID or not.

Perhaps the flu tests themselves were gamed? Consider that for a moment.
I have. I find it hard to believe that all the manufacturers of flu tests worldwide would knowingly collude to create faulty products to intentionally give false negatives. You are talking about thousands of mostly well-meaning people working for these companies. Someone would leak. But you of course are entitled to your own thoughts and opinions on the matter.

Who is they? I'm saying we test everyone for flu. Think about it as if you are running a hospital. COVID patients require isolation. You have finite resources and cannot put everyone in isolation. You actually hope someone is positive for flu so you don't have to use another COVID isolation bed.
This is the test that is most often used:

This is dumb. Masking and social distancing eradicated the flu but not COVID?
Negative flu tests are negative flu tests. This is the fact I am witnessing on a daily basis. Process that however you like.

In the hospital where I work, people who are having flu-like symptoms are being tested for flu at the same time as COVID. There is no conspiracy to count the positive flu tests as COVID at our hospital. The fact is there are very few positive flu tests in the patient population, and I know this is 100% true. No one knows why exactly but this is the way it is.
The easiest explanation to imagine is that masks and social distancing have likely made a big impact. That does not mean it is the only reason flu is so scarce this year, but until a better theory with strong supporting data is put forward, I am leaning toward the widespread masking as the most likely cause for decreased flu transmission.

Not a big fan of this Fauci guy but what he is saying here if just a reflection of reality. Despite personal feelings on the matter regarding the handling of key aspects of the COVID episode some people are likely to view flu seasonal outbreaks in a new light. It is strange to see that there is no real impact from the flu under the current conditions. It is an easy leap of the imagination to reason that masks and distancing are the likely difference makers. Don’t know if I personally will wear a mask during flu season, especially if I am vaccinated, but I will not judge others too harshly if they feel it’s something they need to do.
What may or may not be mandated by businesses and governments remains to be seen, but our world has changed like it or not. I just hope for better times.

Tim Ferriss discusses this with some knowledgeable folks in several of his podcasts. If you really want to know more, that might be a good way to get a lot of info on the topic without having to weed through a lot of internet junk.
I don't think the idea is so much to "experiment" on our vets. It's more like these are experimental treatments that has shown quite a bit of promise, enough to feel optimistic enthusiasm on the topic.

re: More confident in Trump winning this time compared to 2016?

Rightly or wrongly, I am more confident this time. Last time I recognized there was more support than was showing up in the news or in the polls, but I was more optimistically hopeful than confident. This time, it seems like "deja vu all over again." Now I am more confident than hopeful. And as many others have said, in a fair election, I think the president would cruise to re-election. But the wildcard is the amount of fraud that can be injected by the blue team.
Don’t know what this is worth, but as we were driving on 105 to Houston yesterday there was a nice Trump parade shaping up, at least a mile or so of cars and ( mostly) trucks. I realize Texas is probably not really in play but that just makes it more supportive in my opinion.

The greatest minds in the world produced the nuclear bomb....then stood too close during testing and most died within years of its invention.
Might want to double-check that. A couple physicists were killed after accidental exposure to a plutonium core but I'm not aware of any mass deaths among designers of the bomb.
I would also point out that currently they are not talking about modifying the sex of embryos, just selecting them by sex so you can try to choose if you want to have a girl or a boy. So nothing would be "nicked" in that scenario. So apart from your fear which is not reality-based and your supporting evidence which never happened, there is not a lot to worry about yet.
I will admit your overarching concern is still somewhat valid though. Tampering too much with what nature has refined over millenia will probably have some unforseen consequences. But the genie is not going back into the bottle. Too much potential upside for those willing to take some risks. We will just have to work through the issues as best we can as they come up.

I'm not a history professor, but aren't anarchists basically just cannon fodder for communists, the first useful idiots to be shot in the streets after the revolution? Have anarchists ever helped to install a capitalist republic?

Avoid them with Dihydromyricetin. Research if you want, but felt to be pretty safe and effective for the most part. Available on Amazon. You're welcome.
Ask yourself what the playoff committee wants to see in the end. I feel the answer is they want to make the largest amount of money possible during the playoffs and especially the championship game. I believe they have decided that LSU vs tOSU will be the most interesting, most lucrative matchup. The Burrow vs the team that spurned him theme is just too juicy. They would have tried to set up the same scenario if OU and Bama were both in.
Once you have decided that LSU vs tOSU in the championship is the goal, it is obvious that you need to rank tOSU #1 so they don’t have to play Clemson, because clearly LSU looks like they have a better chance getting past Clemson than tOSU.
So in reality, though it seems insulting the lengths they are going through to manipulate things to keep LSU at #2, it really shows you that they like LSU’s chances against Clemson better than tOSU’s. They are acknowledging that their dream scenario can only come about by protecting tOSU from Clemson.

The first thing you need to do if you want european-style "free" healthcare is to get someone else to bear all the costs for keeping you safe. Then with the money you save by not having to commit to any meaningful level of military spending, you can parcel a little bit of crappy, rationed healthcare to all citizens.
