I'm curoius to hear what the "a wins a win people" have to say about A&M playing in cotton and not us. They have a more fun team to watch

10 wins must be the metric by which we measure whether or not we're content with the way our season ended. Many say it's foolish to expect to compete for a national title every year, and we should just be happy with 10 wins.

The fans in Tuscaloosa expect to win a national title every year...and they're about to play for their 3rd in 4 years.

until Les got too cocky

Miami-squeazed
ND-destroyed
OSU-chopped
GT-wrecked

then came PSU where LSU played with a very loose butt hole

then AM- killed

and ill spare everyone the most recent bowl game

itll be very interesting to see whether the pattern continues with the recent "struggle" in bowls when talking in respect to the start of Miles career and how he performed in bowls.

So, this would be, what, 4 non-BCS bowl trips in the last 5 years?

And zero BCS wins in the last 5 years?

Well theres 3 11-1 teams and then A&M who even though we beat , following there upset of Bama many I believe think they would win a rematch with us.

If we moved to the ACC, could we dominate sports?

I agree with some of your posts in here but this one is uncalled for.

We have 10 wins in the SEC. It's the way it goes sometimes. Nothing on this list is set in stone, it's just projections.

Maybe everyone would rather us be a shell of it's former self like Auburn and not even win SEC games, let alone qualify for a bowl.

Everyone is so drunk on the 10 wins per year line...but the fact that we have 0 BCS wins in the last 5 years (for a program that is apparently as good as we think it is) is quite surprising...

Might be some movement, depending... say Bama loses, maybe they go to the Cotton and JFF goes to Orlando. Or maybe the Gator makes a deal to get UGA, so that they wouldn't be a repeat.

I agree. It's stupid for these bowl committees to speculate about the "what if" scenarios and have that "result" from this "what if game" be the deciding factor of who goes to what bowl.

I get the whole "we want to draw the fans to the bowl so we make $$$, we get a lot of sponsors, more $$$, all that stuff..... but at the outset, the head to head match ups should mean something. These are amateur sports. (Not far from being pro, don't misunderstand) but these are amateur sports. So from the get go, the head to head records should mean something.

Anyway, before people flip out, let's just see what happens.

so what do we do? turn down the invite? not show up? lay down and lose to whomever the opponent is? Disrespect the opponent and say they dont belong on the same field as us?

damn our fans are morons.

Can't get excited about the possibility of playing Clemson. I went to Atlanta in December of 1996 to see us play them in the Peach Bowl. Easily the most dull LSU game I've ever sat through (10-7 LSU victory).

yeah, but some people are still stung by the Curly and Dinardo years that they're "happy with 10 wins and a bowl game". "I remember when we didn't go to a bowl for 6 years". Ten wins are easier now with 12 and 13 games being played before the bowl, but the pumpers are still astonished by the 10 win plateau...some even with 9 wins. Bottom line, LSU very well should be playing for a second straight NC. I'm not unhappy with the season, but I feel LSU underachieved.

Not many teams played for a bcs title in the last 5 years. Not many teams won the sec title over the last 5 years. Maybe we are as good as we think we are.

A&M has the current hot marquee name in Manziel. Decent shot they already had the Cotton locked up before this week.

Remember, before you get too bitter- you don't want to be Auburn or Tennessee!
