Some of us don’t understand how these payments are set up.

Would you step foot back in Baton Rouge after getting $50 million from LSU? Name one redeeming quality of life aspect you can find in Baton Rouge with that type of money besides the airport and I-10 going east and west?

I am an alumnus of LSU and a season ticket holder. For years my wife and I would go watch football and eat at Chimes before every home game. It was great. Ever since the debacle that was the game with Southern, the area around Chimes has gotten worse and worse. It also pisses me off that the Union is closed on game days. At one time, I really thought I would make BR my home; not anymore.

While Kelly was a poor hire, you must be too young to know about, or remember, one Hudson "Curly" Hallman.

If not for Brett Favre making Hallman look like a good coach, we would have otherwise never heard his name spoken in Baton Rouge.

And on top of that, Joe Dean, the athletics director at that time, went coach shopping at the "scratch and dent" store.

I don’t see how he lands any where. Hes unlikable, just proved he can’t win with unlimited resources, wants to be a ceo and not really coach, makes terrible hires. Miles was likable and won but failed miserably at Kansas after the game passed him up. Belicheck win 7 rings but is failing after the game passed him up.

Kelly is a high school coach at best.

Surprised he didn't just do a Zoom meeting with the team. How personal.

That’s more than he did for his ND team.

Sorry Coach O but the decline of Baton Rouge started in the 1980s when local and state leaders didn't go in and clean up all of the property between downtown and LSU. If they had shown the right political balls Baton Rouge could have had a chance. Now its a second tier Starkville.

Actually the most pitiful hire we have ever made as an institution
—HA! Curley Hallman. Know your LSU history. Now if you mean financially, yes

You can call me Jay, or Ray, or Stu or Lou, but you don't have to call me Coach O. I despise that man.

This team quit on him.

Do people expect him to have a heartwarming chat for 30 minutes? lol

To be fair, what is he supposed to do? Stand around and wait for hugs?

There's a tradition in the Air Force that after a change of command, the outgoing commander, having already cleaned out his office, leaves before the reception. It's not his party any more. And, that's when the transition is part of the natural order. Get fired, and you are out and never get to talk to anyone.

I don't know what he said, so there are some scenarios where he said something inexcusable.

But, the fact that he only spoke for 5 minutes isn't that big a red flag to me.
