He was dominate last night. Had total command of his pitches which has been the issue. Even Shoneys Big Boy had a big hit last night.

He literally dicked himself. Some very dumb posters on this board.

I think so. It seems pretty good.

Kept the fastball around 95 throughout rather than the 97-99 we have seen

When was he hitting 99?

Your previous comments make you look disingenuous. Or did you forget which alter you were using?

15 strikeouts in 7.2 innings against a top 10 team is exactly how you respond to the doubters. Evans looked like a completely different pitcher tonight compared to the Vanderbilt start. Jay Johnson clearly knew he was due for a bounce-back game in the SEC home opener.

Yeah, especially the thread asking if this would be his last “Friday” start.

The issue with Evans is consistency. Anyone arguing that he doesn’t have the talent is lying to themselves. But anyone who says he’s been at the top of his game since he’s been here is also lying to themselves. If he plays at this level the rest of the season, look out.

He was remarkably consistent as a closer as a true freshman who came in as a 2-way guy last year. He hasn’t been consistent as a starter this year, but that doesn’t translate to “since he’s been here.”

Evans was in the zone last night dealing with all of his pitches. Great to see and I hope he continues to build upon that outing. Let's stack some wins.

LSU baseball fans are idiotic. His stuff has been good all year, just has had some bad luck and a small hiccup at Vandy last weekend.

He has hit 99 multiple times this year including against Vandy. Not may but has hit on a couple of occasions.

I pointed out in other threads how well he was doing at the end of last year. The point is just that everyone on this board interprets recent trends way too heavily as opposed to long term trends. He mostly shut down UCLA in a quasi starter role on the biggest stage in the sport. The kid has great stuff. If he gets consistently up to his performance last night, we’ll win most fridays.

If he doesn't throw a perfect game every outing, he's "not elite".
