Either Clemson offense was slow or we were extremely fast in closing.

Defense isn’t getting talked about enough.

I think we're pretty fast and close on the ball in numbers very quickly because Chris Johnson Jr. is damn fast and we just smothered him.

I cant remember who 2 is but in the 1st qtr he saw the play develop and went from the far side to opposite side wide open and met the RB with only a 1 yd gain. He sprinted with with no care in the world and didnt assume somebody would make a play hang back. He wanted the tackle. It was Honeybadger like or Laron Landry

I agree. I watched the game last night and the condensed version this am and that is what stood out to me.
Speed/quickness. The defense was super quick and always had multiple guys swarming on tackles, also almost no missed tackles.

Same for the offense. Very quick and attacked well. That left tackle is impressive. Getting outside to block very fast. Going to be a good season.

I can't recall a LSU defense looking this smart and this cohesive on its first game.

I agree with your defensive speed point but just as important to me was the push up the middle by the DL. I critcized the middle of the DL last year for no push to harass running QBs and make them run more east and west on runs. That is going to be huge this year against the QBs who have killed LSU over the years by simply taking off and running right down the middle of the field. Pavia did it...Reed did it...etc

What amazed me more was that there were not many “solo” tackles necessary. Everyone flying to the ball, always two, three and sometimes four players around the ball and participating in the tackle.

By far, the best defensive speed we’ve ever had.

Clemson is and has had poor team speed for years now. Really, since 2019. It was fun to watch but this game did not really tell us anything. Offenses are easy to defend with no threats.

Hard to say yet. Clemson probably not as bad as they showed. We will know if we are special by Oct 1. We are definitely a hell of a lot better than last year when we lost 2 close games to playoff teams om and OU.

Zero team speed. Just like last year. Not hard to see
