Can't build a football nutrition center because it looks bad, but we can do this...

Let me note I think it is fantastic we are giving the ladies this. It is one of our more successful sports and fun to watch. Just think its funny how one thing is not even questioned while the other is brought up like it was stealing from the university.

Torina has earned the investment in the program.

Absolutely, not disputing that in the least. My point was the hypocrisy of the whole thing going back to a couple years ago.

A family donated a large percentage if not all of the money to build this several years ago. It should have already been completed but we know our Athletic department... Pat Henry told people at A&M while I standing right there that we are Last Second University.

So glad for Beth and the softball players to get this.

Softball is a perennial top team, and they deserve their own facility.

There is a big difference between a gym for a team, and a cafeteria for a team.

I hated the nutrition center and the fact that something is now built there, taking up really good parking spots on a campus in desperate need of parking.

This softball facility will go beyond the softball's outfield walls. Know what's there right now? NOTHING. I have zero problem with this.

It will be part of football operations, but available to all athletes. So yeah, it probably is a little cheaper. Thank King for that one. On a positive note, it will benefit football greatly having that facility literally connected to football ops.

That was the reason given for cancelling the stand-alone facility. IMO the new one to be built onto the Football Operations Center is a better idea, since it puts the nutrition center and the main weight room for LSU athletics under one roof.

No. They just moved it so it wasn’t part of the Nicholson Gateway project.

I hated the “optics” move but it’s the same thing. Just another location.

Title IX is probably all you need to know about that. Despite softball and basically every sport not named football, Men's basketball, or baseball being a bottomless well that we throw money in.

Um... LSU isn't spending their money on this... The money is already in place due to a few major donors for softball. The money covers the facility and labor to do it. What exactly is the issue with this?

I am not sure why everyone has an issue with this. LSU pisses enough money away as it is, I am not sure why people really care if we do want to invest in our athletic facilities.

The OP questioned why it was a bad look for football to construct a new facility but it not being a bad look for softball. I simply answered title IX because typically when it’s money spent on women’s sports it looks good. I also added that nearly every sport representing LSU loses money, especially women’s sports.

I personally have no problem with the construction of either building referenced previously and if you took a poll, I would assume that most LSU fans agree with my sentiments.

Ugh...Title IX has nothing to do with this.

To the complainers: make more f'ing money, donate it to the sport of your choice. This is all you need to know about that.

I'm all for it, I don't quite understand the window placement in the model....right behind the catcher?

I was seated at a booth directly behind Les, his wife and couple of girls last Sunday at California Kitchen. My friend kept saying, "ask him if he recommends the grass here."

I was surprised at how slender his shoulders were.

The people who are offended by this are all of a single demographic and voting bloc.

It has a lot of windows and if you notice at the top of the rendering they show the drop netting. I think they didn't show it all the way down because it would make the rendering look like shite but there are drop nets all over for the field and batting lanes.
