GROUND AND POUND BETWEEN TACKLES
PLy tough d.
Will need a very good DC to make up for offensive style and issues
Will need great o line play to be successful running against 8 and 9 man fronts.

How much worse could it be than what you have ?
That’s your question

If you like 80's smashmouth football then he's the right man for the job....

Loves I FORMATION. can be very predictable at times. If he can get recruits in there he will win you some
Games. There’s no doubting that. Winning seasons also. How good I cannot tell you. With his style. Recruits will tell you what your ceiling for wins will be.

I think he'd steal some recruits from the state of Texas and probably Louisiana and make them a perennial 6-7 win team. I think he would immediately lend them at least a LITTLE credibility in the landscape of college football. Obviously 2005-2007 or 2010-2012 Les isn't walking through the door but I think he can make them somewhat relevant and make a little bit of noise with a smashmouth brand of football against a bunch of largely toothless defenses in the Big XII.

Football is not the focus at KU. He will do fine if mediocrisity is what they want
Posted on 11/7/18 at 4:21 pm to Sweetlouis
Just depends on what he's willing to do on the offense side of the ball. He's a great coach and a good fit for KU but if he still has the same offense philosophy they are going to regret hiring him

Yeah 7-6 and 8-5 should be doable counting bowl games if he gets his line and controls clock and Linda those weak defenses into oblivion. Could also be some 5 or 6 win seasons. All depends.

Miles doesn't have the want to give up the LSU buyout and KU doesn't have the chest to pay him enough to offset the loss of the LSU buyout.

He will improve the program and will run a tight ship. Offense will be boring as hell in the big 12

If he were to take the job of course.
he is "required" to "pretend" to be trying to get a coaching job to collect his $10 million every year (or whatever it is)
he isnt about to get another job anywhere until his unemployment paycheck from LSU ends
you guys who think he loves LSU are delusional, he wants to rub that money in LSUs face every year and isnt about to get a job and let them save even $1 of that money.
every single year you guys fall for this pretend job search BS

I think he would do good at Kansas and whoever takes over in 4-5 years after Les retires would have more talent to work with because Les can recruit good. Milrs would recruit the Midwest to the best of his ability and would go find players in states like Louisiana, Texas and Florida. Miles wouldn’t be turning in Top 10 recruiting classes at Kansas but he knows what a good football player looks like and would sign kids that have a lot of upside to develop. A lot of people on this board are too yourng to remember that heavy set coach had Kansas playing strong football. I believe he got fired for yelling at the players. If that guy can win then Les Miles damn sure can.

I know there is some bad blood, but would like to hear your opinion.
He would "succeed" at KU. They would not be trying to get to the top of the Big 12 at first. At first, they are trying to set a culture of winning starting with recruiting and he would absolutely get them headed in the right direction. He is not young enough to stay forever or win enough to do so but he will get them significantly better talent than they have and headed in the right direction. He would basically be their Dinardo and before you go bashing Dinardo, I was in school for the end of Archer and all of Hallman so Dinardo absolutely helped this program. He would do exactly what you need done right now.

Vince Lombardi, Chuck Noll, Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson and Bill Belichik could not make KU winners.
They had a few good teams with that really fat dude though

I doubt that any of us could say with any certainty at all and I doubt that KU hires Les Miles.

Just absolutely, eye-clawing boring football.
I liked watching us run all over people and break them.
We look like dog shite now.
But I don't think they should hire him. Old, not sure if the drive is there and he'd need to convince a younger guy to come run the offense.

Never compete for big 12 championship

You don’t understand how buyouts work.
Posted on 11/7/18 at 8:05 pm to Sweetlouis
Wouldn't it be some shite if he finally woke up and did a 180 by doing the unimaginable- hiring a hotshot young OC like Kendal Briles and changing his prehistoric offensive philosophy.

He’ll probably improve the program but don’t expect to win the Big 12.
