you think a head softball coach is making "generational wealth" type money??

she makes good money, but if she got fired tomorrow, she ain't living the rest of her life comfortably, much less setting up her kids, and her kid's kids for life... THAT is generational wealth, in case you didn't know...

Her pay isn’t going to decline and peak if she does her job. That’s the exact point I’m making
All she has to do is make decisions based off of what’s best for her employer and she’s literally guaranteed to retire as a VERY wealthy person, assuming she doesn’t pull a curt schilling and pour her life savings into a stupid venture

She makes $450,000 a year. Where exactly do you think that ranks on the pay scale?
What you meant to say is her income is in the top 1%.

If she continued to make 500,000 dollars a year until her retirement she’s going to be incredibly wealthy
Obviously what I’m saying isn’t contingent on her being fired tomorrow. Good God

Ah shite I’ve been drinking. Oops hehe
Eta: just noting she makes more than the vast majority of the workplace. I’ll own up to the derp, was poorly worded

you realize she's a coach, right? one of the most volatile and least stable jobs ever?
for frick's sake, please tell me you do understand that's part of the equation, rather than just simply ignoring that fact, in order to strengthen your piss poor premise

Beth Torina feels she’s above doing what’s right for her employer and stakeholders and doing what’s best for her experience.
Are you a mind reader? Maybe she thinks they’re doing a good job.

Part of the equation is doing the right thing and she’s going to squander if she refuses to change
People keep convoluting the context of the post by suggesting I think she already has substantial wealth. My point is that she’s squandering what it could be by making personal instead of objective decisions.
Of course she’s not going to retire with that kind of security if she keeps this up, but she is in the perfect position to make a shite ton on money.
I made a drunk mishap with the 99% remark but the point remains the same. Just do her fricking job and she’s going to be incredibly well off

I think all this thread is established is that you don’t understand what the term generational wealth means.

I would like 500k per year to coach softball.
Posted on 5/21/23 at 11:52 pm to tigerbait2010
I think the decision has already been made, but everybody please send an e-mail to Scott Woodward and tell him that LSU deserves a new Head Softball Coach.

Almost 500k a year ain’t generational wealth
A one time 500k check isn't generational wealth. Making that much per year is pretty close, if she knows anything about how to invest. Does it compare to mega millionaires and billionaires? No. But it is an amount that the vast, vast majority of people can only dream about. And all to coach a game.

After 2008 it didn't matter who the OC was, Les was running the offense. The problem with Beth may or may not be with here assistants, I don't know enough about softball to know that answer, but the problem with football under Les, WAS LES. Who the OC was - that was irrelevant after 2008.

Would agree if you eliminate incredibly from your statement.
Don't follow softball closely. Why y'all on her so hard? They had a good season.

She’s on OK not great coach. She isn’t going to coach at LSU for 30 years.

Good season? Yeah, a nice winning record, but Torina is not being paid for a 'good' season. Very likeable person, but post-season disappointments are adding up & even a trip to World Series seems forever out of her reach again. The heat will definitely turn up on Beth, I doubt she gets more than one more year, especially if changes are not made. The program seems to have beçome stale, which is just not going to cut it...

As disturbing as it is that you think you are right about that being generational wealth, it pales in comparison to the amount of upvotes this got. It’s a shame that critically unintelligent people breed twice as much as intelligent people in this world.

Why would she leave OU when they are joining the SEC soon? She's built a powerhouse in Norman. I don't see her leaving anytime soon.
What about Rachel Lawson at UK? She's arguably done more with less than Beth has to work with.
