That's good information, thanks for compiling. I'm interested to see if the league is as good as we think. If the margins among the top half of the league are small, you could have a bunch of really strong squads that won't make it above 20 wins. The relative strength of the league matters, and that would be hard to measure. LSU may not win the league this year, and yet, still could be one of the best teams in the country.

The point is that a loaded team wins more than 20 in the SEC
Maybe if there’s only 1 loaded team. But there’s a few in the SEC this year and the math will not allow for them all to win 20.
And your “coast to 22-8” statement is the kind of stupid bullshite I’m talking about. It takes away from the accomplishment if we actually do it. And make no mistake, going 22-8 would be one hell of an accomplishment that the players should be celebrated for actually going out and achieving. You’re suggesting it would simply be due to Jay’s/Paul’s recruiting instead of the players actually going out and making the plays it would take to beat a bunch of really good teams 22 times. Which is bullshite.

I am hoping for a 22-8 SEC Record

In 2014, Vandy won the CWS with only 17 SEC wins and Ole Miss won the west with 19. If LSU has 19 wins, wins the west, and wins a championship, no one will give a shite about 20. It won’t be a “disappointment” to any LSU fan.

Then how do you come up with a projected record without assuming?? Your response makes no sense at all.

Auburn, A&M, Vandy - Have issues, but wouldn't be shocked if they won a series against any of the teams in the upper categories.
All three are very talented, but haven’t got things clicking right now. Don’t forget coming into SEC play last year we looked solid and Auburn/Texas A&M were “figuring things out” and we started with 2 series losses at home in our first 3 series.

With the parity and loaded teams in the sec this year, 20-10 will win the league and host a regional and super…probably a to 4 seed.
Yes, LSU can do this, but nothing is automatic.

I’m sure Tennessee “expected” to sweep Kentucky last season with them being rated low in the SEC. How did that turn out? Most of Tennessee’s 2-1 series wins came against lower ranked teams in the SEC. Those are teams you are putting “sweep” next to.
The point was is you can never assume or expect a sweep vs an SEC school. It’s really not that hard to follow. Be happy with 2-1 and if you sweep more happiness to you. But the ones expecting a sweep almost every week is probably gonna be disappointed here or there. It’s baseball.

Absolutely. Reasonable goal for this team.

That would be a YUGE achievement, given play in recent years, and given the competitiveness of the SEC.

1-2 this weekend in a C-O-L-D and windy Scott Olsen Field should be considered success.
No

It would have been even in the Bertman era.
Perhaps in 1985 against Miss St.

anything less than 30 SEC wins is a disappointment.

I believe you may see us go 1-2 once or maybe 2x hopefully not but then again I also believe there's as good a chance as us sweeping several and getting back on schedule.

Dude are you being serious LOL. We are talking about projected record. Who cares what the outcome is at the end of the weekend. Who cares if we get swept and i said we would sweep. This is my "Projected Record" you goof ball. What would you say our projected record would be??

25-5

would guess that the team wouldn't think 5-4 in the first 9 is successful. It may happen, but I will not herald it as a success or a failure. Sometimes, a mediocre result is just that.
It would really depend on how they got to 5-4. They could sweep A&M & then lose to UT & Arky 1-2 or they could get swept @A&M & then sweep UT & take 2/3 from Ark or open up 1-2 @ A&M & then take 2/3 from UT & Ark.
Point being there’s several ways to to get to 5-4 but you would def come out of those 3 scenarios with different opinions of success or failure.

Tennessee went 25-5 last year.
Ole Miss went 14-16.
And yet...

SEC records and place of LSU National Champ Teams
1997 22-7 1st
1996 20-10 1st
2009 20-10 1st
1991 19-7 1st
1993 18-8-1 1st
2000 19-10 2nd
So at least for the Tigers, 19 wins and 1st or 2nd looks like the target if they want to win it all.
Of course, Ole Miss last year,,,
