Can TAF fix the leaking roof at LSU library?

LINK Seems LSU is short 10-14 million for the coming year. I know TAF already gives some money to the general fund but, My Lord, LSU athletes want for nothing (sleeping pods in locker rooms) and LSU can't fix a leak. Brother, can you spare a million?

It's not TAF's fault that LSU's student and educational leadership is god awful.

The football program supports the university bigtime monitarily dude. What the board of surpervisors choose to do with the money they receive is up to them, not taf. I wish people would stop bad mouthing taf and place the blame solely on the people that are in charge of making such decisions. Yall sound dumb.

I love these socialist principles.
“Oh they have really nice locker-rooms, they should give us some money to fix a roof leak because our leaders can’t budget properly”
F King is the problem. He’s been the problem. LSU’s football program is a huge moneymaker for the school and upgrades to facilities means better players, better players means more wins, more wins means more money.
You want LSU to have more competent leadership? Cut the head off the snake.
This is why we can’t keep up in football because of morons like the OP and JBE that want to put a cap on spending.
Have you seen the economic impact Alabama’s football success has had on their school and Tuscaloosa? Also they’re the ones that generate the money, why should it not be spent on them?

If the left wingers would grow a sack and stop kissing Alexander’s arse the students wouldn’t have these problems

They should just replace that racist building

All I'm saying is that LSU made a bad deal with TAF. TAF would be nothing if it couldn't market LSU athletics. There is no LSU atletics without LSU. Both sides need to sit down and negotiate.

The TAF is a private organization. Okie State tried to do the same with T Boone when donated a ton of cash...he told them to make their own fortune and spend it. It’s his money, just like the TAF is theirs.

"socialism?"
As is often the case, you have no clue what you are talking about.

LSU would be worse if there were no TAF. Athletics at LSU are elite and LSU is a beneficiary of their success.
LSU is not an elite institution. Enjoy the ride

Why would TAF do that?
TAF’s mission is to fund LSU athletics programs, and they sought out the funding to do that. They had donors willing to give to that project.
LSU libraries is funded by LSU general funds, the friends of the LSU libraries organization, and the LSU Foundation. If you have a problem with the state of any library, those are the people to question, not athletics.
If you question the LSU community’s commitment to Middleton Library as a whole, let me ask you directly: how much money have you given to fix the leaking roof at the library? I will bet that the answer is none. If you do happen to be one of the few and the proud who have actually given more than $100 to the libraries, I salute you, and I will give you a pass from what I am about to say. Otherwise...
If you can’t convince yourself to give a little bit to Middleton Library, you have no right to ask TAF or anyone else to write a check to fix its problems themselves.
The question is not “Can TAF fix Middleton’s roof?”
The question is “How can we ALL fix Middleton’s roof?”

LSU has 1 BILLION DOLLARS in deferred maintenance. Giving money for specific projects is a rabbit hole they don’t want to go down considering the millions of dollars a year they already give back.

Didn’t hear anything about a damn roof leak until LSU renovates the football center.

How about JBE fix the roof. He's adds claim that the economy is so great, let him fix it .

So you’re pissed off because LSU is trying to build a championship football team and the carpet in the library has water stains on it?
Boy did you come to the wrong board with that shite

With the tens of millions the athletic department gives the university, I'm sure they can find the $ to fix the library roof if they want to.

I suggest you learn how donations work. This isn’t complicated. LSU athetlics money has zero to do with why the academic side is slacking. They take 0 from the school and actually give back. If F King wasn’t payin bloated salaries to insane made up positions, paying per diem to employees that shouldn’t be getting it and a host of other academic issues perhaps people would donate to both TAF and the general fund.
It is tiring and makes me even less inclined to donate to the academic side when people make these dumb arguments every time the football or basketball team spends the money donated to them.
Also the college of business and engineering dont seem to have any difficulties paying for their buildings. Perhaps that is because their graduates get real jobs.

May be a dumb question, but Lord knows The Rant is full of dumb questions (maybe it's just my turn).
Is a Library really a necessity in today's world?
