Read a couple of threads, where it's being explained ad nauseam.

LSU needs to win out to have a chance at the SEC title

Florida already needs Tennessee to have two losses to get to SEC title. So by Florida playing one less game, it gives them one less opportunity at a second loss.

Because tennessee plays A&M and Bama. And Florida plays Arkansas and UGA. You figure it out

Florida was really hurt this week, was looking like a sure win for LSU. Now Florida has avoided a loss while fricking over LSU for the rest of the season.

If you assume Tenn will lose 2 games in the SEC, it is obvious. Also, if you assume the SEC front office will rule in favor of the gumps over LSU in the event LSU wins out, again, it is obvious.

Tennessee could easily lose to Bama and aTm and finish 6-2. Say LSU wins out and finishes 6-1 with Bama at 7-1... LSU and Tennessee screwed. Simple.

We need the game if by some chance we run the table in the SEC. With a loss Florida and Tennessee would've been tied in the East.

Scenario: tnis game is played. Florida loses. They have two losses. Tennessee winds up only losing two as. They still have tiebreaker over UF. Lsu wins out, but bama only has loss to us. They're 7-1 and we're 6-1. Bama has higher winning %

LSU is in the West.

UF is in the East.

East= shite show (easy for a mediocre team to win)

West= best of the SEC. LSU has to have this game to remain mathematically capable of winning the SEC.

Tennessee is currently in first. But they have to play A&M this week and Bama nest week. Meaning they would finish 6-2 and Florida would finish 6-1. Florida with the better winning percent. Florida goes

UT has Bama and aTm. There's a realistic shot they lose those two.
UF is 6-1, UT is 6-2. UF goes to the SECCG.

LSU runs the table.
LSU is 6-1, Bama/aTm is 7-1. They go instead of LSU.

LSU wins out and Bama loses only to LSU. Bama 7-1, LSU 6-1. LSU screwed

Say the SEC decides to say frick it and wont make it up.
Per rules under the following scenarios

East:
UF 6-1
Tenn 6-2

West:
Alabama- 7-1
LSU- 6-1

Alabama and UF would win the divisions. While unlikely, it is a possibility. I just hope they would push the SEC champ game back if that happens

There's a good chance Tennessee loses two going forward. (A&M and Bama) Florida would go to SEC championship if they win out. Had they lost this game, their chances were gone.

Now even if LSU wins out, we would need Bama or A&M to drop another because they would get in over us with a 7-1 record. Far less likely.

ETA: damn people with the quick fingers

Got it now. Great strategy by Florida, but they should have never been allowed to pull that shite....hurricane, or not. I hope we get a reschedule and mess their plan and season up worse than Matthew will.
