Can LSU play its way into a regional host if they win the SECT?

Or is a 2 seed the best we can hope for?

I don’t think we can play our way into a hosting position tbh.

Not hosting, period. #2 or #3 seed likely.

A 2 would be incredible given where we were

2 seed is the max I think.

Depends on what mischief the baseball gods get up to...I think it's possible if we win out...besides NCAA would make more money with a BR regional vs some small school in the middle of nowhere...

our KPI going into yesterday was like 17 and the NCAA is using that as a tool.

We throttled Kentucky. I'm not saying it's likely we host but winning 3 more games might push us into the discussion

It's not likely, but it's not as impossible as people will try to make you believe. It has gotten even less likely with Miss St doing just as well as we are in the tournament.

Kentucky, aTm, Arkansas, Tennessee and Georgia are 100% hosting. Miss St is the other team who was in that mix. Our metrics are similar to theirs, they just have the better SEC record.

If we were to win this tournament it would mean we won either 8 in a row, or 8 of our last 9. It would also take us to winning 18 SEC games (the committee has previously said that these tourney wins count as SEC wins in their eyes). If that remains true, 18 wins will get you in the conversation. The RPI/KPI boost along the way would suggest hosting is possible as well.

Like I said though, it becomes even more less likely with Miss St winning so far as well. We would have probably needed them to fall early, for us to have a chance to replace them.

You are always such a a clueless retard.

No shite huh. We have a 0% chance of getting a 4 seed. getting a 1 seed is pretty unlikely. But here you come with your wisdom of saying a 2-3 seed is likely. You even sound dumb when you are trying your hardest to sound smart.

This is going to factor in almost none.

I don't know why people can't understand this. Our fans have Alabama football entitlement when it comes to baseball

That 2010 team had a better resume going into the SEC tourney than this team does. Won the whole thing and still got sent out to UCLA.

Probably not, but just keeping winning and you never know.

going 13-17 in conference does not get you a host spot no matter what you do in the conference tourney.

We beat 2 top 10 teams who threw their bull pen against our aces....some of ya'll need to pump the brakes and be happy we get to watch LSU baseball past this weekend.

A 3 seed is probable, a 2 seed would be great given that we were on the bubble coming into Tuesday

seems everyone forgets we went 14-16 in the SEC in 2010 and won the SEC tournament.

We were sent to the UCLA regional across the country that year.

ETA: baseball America still has us as a 3-seed as of 5/23. D1baseball has us as a 3-seed today still too based off the comments in an article I read by Mark Etheridge last night.

Exactly. The last two games have been great. Hopefully it is a definitive sign that LSU is rounding into the form we thought they would have before the season at just the right time. But the extreme overreaction that LSU would go from possibly not reaching the NCAA Tournament to hosting a regional simply because of the result of a few games in the SEC Tournament is absurd. There is a better chance that LSU misses the NCAA Tournament (albeit probably small at this point) than there is LSU hosts a regional.

Hosting is not probable but is possible if we get to the championship game.

This isn’t a factor any longer. It’s not 1995.
