No. Even if LSU wins out but doesn’t make the SEC championship because OM also won out, there will be people here moaning about our wasted season, what if, etc. Our fan base will never be happy unless the team goes undefeated, wins the NC, has a Heisman winner and fires the coach.

At this point I want to see improvement from he defense. When season goals change before September is even over with, the season is over. Let’s focus on improvement so we can have a year next year. Every game this year is practice for next year. Every down this year is an experiment to see what works and who’s learning. Rotate guys in and out all game each game from here until end of the year. LSU suddenly just gave themselves the luxury of one hell of a practice run for a title next year.

In my opinion, that’s the best approach to the rest of this year. Teach everyone fundamentals with real game experience with the ultimate goal of a championship next year. Pad JD5’s stats along the way so he can get a nice payday and he doesn’t feel like this year is wasted.

I want to see our defense get off the field on 3rd down, especially 3rd and 10+. We had so many opportunities to get Ole Miss off the field on 3rd down and they converted what seemed like every one of them.

Nope. It’s the end of LSU football. We will be last place in the SEC from now on. It’s over. It was a good run.

I would like to see a group of 7 fans selected at random before each game. Their job would be for one of them to kick the appropriate position coach in the nuts after each missed tackle.
Matt House would get kicked in the nuts by each member of the fan group for every TD given up by the defense.

Of course there is. Most realistic fans did not expect an undefeated season, and they probably didn’t expect to compete for the west again. That may have been recalibrated after everyone else looked so terrible, but the understanding of a rebuild was there. The fan base is upset because we didn’t just look like we were rebuilding, we looked epically bad. if they can play a game and not look objectively horrible on defense, then the fan base will calm down.
