You just regurgitate things you hear from TD correct?
Because I watched Perkins spy Pavia for most of the game and look like shite. Poor angles, was straight up outrun by Pavia and gave really poor effort overall.

Maybe you should talk to Kirby. He had the same issue with Chambliss. True dual threat QBs are impossible to "shut down" in modern college football. You can be mad at CBB scheme against Vandy all you want but he got unblocked pressures on Pavia a ton and Pavia made off schedule plays to beat us.

Stopping a running QB is about assignment football and players playing their role and not trying to do too much, just be where ur assignment is schemed

It would be awesome if he were the superman some of our fans think he is. Harold taking horrible angles was one of the biggest issues against Vandy.

He has the right scheme, I believe, but the players need to stay in their lanes and not be too aggressive when chasing the quarterback. Slow down as you approach the quarterback and not get juked and him run by you.

guys like Chambliss and Pavia are way different if you have to defend them for 88 plays versus 62 plays
Defense gets way more of a pass for Omiss than for Vandy

Very legit question. I think he has better dudes this year and he still can't it seems.

Maybe not being down 3/4 of our top DE and our best interior lineman will help.

Depends on who's healthy/active. No clue what to do with Perkins.
After Pavia embarrassed Perkins last game; Spears in place of Perkins on most passing downs. Continue to bring pressure from the outside, but need discipline up the middle.
Looking at the numbers, flush Reed out the pocket and force him to throw. Worth noting that outside of the pocket his completion % drops from 65% to 38%; 3rd lowest among SEC Starters.

100 percent of the game you spy him with the Haulcy and Perkins depending on the coverage and down and distance and sometimes use both.

Based on his time as a DC at LSU? No
He struggled with it when he was the DC at Mizzou as well actually.

Definitely agree there. But when the defense finally did stop Vandy forcing 2 consecutive punts in the 4th quarter down 1 score the offense threw up on itself twice for negative yardage on both ensuing drives combined.

Nope. That is abundantly clear at this point.
Remember, it was the second half of the aTm game last year when they put Reed in that ultimately exposed Baker as the fraud he is.
We blow that game. Nuss becomes shite Nuss that game too.
Next week we lose to Lagway, then the week after Mike Vick comes to Tiger Stadium and runs for over 200 yards.
Now this year, with a 10M defense, we still can't scheme to stop a decent QB in a top 70 offense.
Only question now is: Will aTm punt? Will Bama punt? Will OU punt?

Would planning for that be prohibitively difficult? If so why/how?

The biggest problem isn’t getting to the QB. It’s that we can’t finish a fricking sack for anything. I’m convinced Pyburn greases himself before each possession.

Baker’s scheme was solid against Vandy for 90% of the game. The players just couldn’t make the plays when they were one on one with Pavia. Bad angles and missed tackles were the result of most of Pavia’s damage

Mostly because that unblocked pressure was terrible and just flew in undisciplined instead of keeping containment. Perkins and Woodland were particularly egregious.

Are you seriously going to blame the offense for the defense allowing teams to consistently convert third downs? Defense has to play defense. If you want to blame injuries, that's fine because LSU's injuries is hurting their front seven. They will likely be without Weeks again which is a big loss alongside likely 4 DL. Down 4 starters on the front seven.

Perkins is part of the problem, not a solution.

No. Same problem at Zou.
