cam is a good example of how to be a net negative for the team whilst scoring a ton.

Admittedly I didn’t see the game, but he was the only Net that shot over 50% for the game (16/29), was 6/8 from three, and a perfect 8/8 from the line. What did he do that was a negative? In looking at the recap it just looks like the whole team was dominated.

cam is hugely deficient in many parts of his game. he is very selfish, ignores open teammates, and is absolutely horrible at defense. technique bad, effort worse. he doesnt get steals or blocks are really stop anyone from doing anything.

in this game his plus/minus was -20 while he was on the floor his team was dominated.

46 points and one assist. one.

they also got crushed in the game and his value is less than replacement level.

his OPM BPM DPM and VORP are all negative

did you read moneyball? they explained how a batter with a 300 avg could hurt the team. the example they used was juan pierre. he was decent batting average but never walked, made tons of outs, was hurting the squad. cam is like that. he is doing one thing, and one thing only. he sucks.

Again…the entire team got dominated. Only 7 players logged any minutes. Only TWO had a better +/- than he did.

Skylar Mays has been balling out for the tanking Trailblazers since being signed to a 10-day contract. Went for 21 points and 12 assists today.

While at LSU, dude played like he was allergic to defense. He only tried on the defense end once we got to the SECT and the NCAAT. Had he, and some of the others on the team, had given the same effort on the defensive end all season long, LSU would have been a 5 seed or better. They just refused to play defense that season.

This board was talking about how he was the new face of the Nets franchise after the trades and he kept going off, but his team was in a losing streak at the same time and he was relegated to the bench once the deals were finalized. Now, he again goes off but his team was completely blown out. At what point do people realize that there is probably a reason why that keeps happening and the Nets don’t value him that much?

It's hard to pin their losses on him when he's getting PT. Look at the other players they're starting with him on their tanking days.

His +/- on the season is -4. The -20 from today's game was 3rd best on the team.

While i get your point, he just is what he is. A microwave scorer off the bench. There is a place in the nba for a player of his caliber.

He doesn't suck.

Damn man that gif of will wade just makes you miss him.

The guy truly loved lsu and wanted to do anything possible to make them the best.

Hopefully, one day, lsu can land another coach of his caliber.

the first thing i mentioned was the single game plus/minus. after your response to that i was talking season long stats.

the stats i mention apply to his entire NBA career where he is a net negative, which speaks to how poor he he is everything except inefficient scoring. he does not rebound or steal.

so again, forget that single game. its his whole career. he scores. there are a myriad of other things he does poorly. his value is negative compared to a replacement player. thats what VORP means. his is negative.

i am not an expert on pete, but my guess is he was less selfish than cam and played at least some defense, and was also more gifted and efficient at scoring.

try to understand that pure scoring numbers, independent of % and efficiency are not the whole story. you can be a high scorer and hurt the team.
