Cam Lewis was out of eligibility, he's been with the team since 2016, dude spent 6 years at LSU

Let's try not to trash on the guy

lol the "leaving early" to go pro used to make sense without NIL. I don't understand the rush for guys to go pro now. Stay in school, make some more money, & get your degree. These guys will learn eventually. The NFL doesn't last forever for the late round guys, might as well make money in school for another yr or two before the NFL.

edit: props to Cam for getting his degree in August '21

Biggest culture bugaboo Kelly needs to address is players thinking they are ready to go pro based on absolutely nothing.

Edit: speaking about Hines here.

And he played pretty well when he needed to step in this year. You want kids like Cam and Jontre in your program.

Best of luck to them. However, they should look at Anthony Johnson and Kevin Tolliver they both left LSU early and went undrafted.

Covid grants both of them another year if they chose.

Athletes have been saying it in all areas since Lebron said that.

Watch any commitment announcement these days.

I think this logic makes sense for a team like Texas who has a group NIL fund for their olinemen. I don’t think LSU has that yet. So who exactly would be paying Chasen Hines for his name, image or likeness?

It’s almost as though the NCAA needs to have a system in place so these guys can get an idea if and where they’re slated to be drafted.

Seriously though, although that system can use some serious changes, it exists. I wonder if our staff failed to advise these players on those things appropriately.

Hines put in 4 years and has battled through some injuries

It’s not like he’s a redshirt sophomore

Neither of these kids are "leaving early". Hines is a senior and Cam is a super super senior.
