As it should, this stuff should be performance based.

Yep, I think he may have been “encouraged” to leave. Johnson recognizes that developmental players are hard to keep around if they don’t show fast improvement. In the age of NIL you’re making wholesale changes to the roster each year in order to get experienced, starter-quality guys in - players you know you may only have for one season.

I think what we’re seeing is an evolution in roster management where major conference schools primary recruiting will be of lesser college program players. The top high school guys will go pro, and the best of the rest (unless demonstrably ready to contribute) may be forced to take spots at smaller schools, prove themselves ready, then move up to the bigger programs like LSU.

We are watching a mlb system for the colleges with the SEC being “the big show” and the ACC bring a step behind.

My thought whenever he was on the mound; He was nervous, not-ready, and looked contused,

And he will more than likely have a much, much bigger impact on the LSU program

We play OU next year. Skip better get to work. A lot to clean up. First thing Cam needs to lose ab 15-20lbs.

I would bet money he isn’t there for year 3. He’s not going to get tons of reps at any SEC schools with his major control issues. That’s not a single offseason correction.

Cool. See ya. Couldn’t crack the lineup at the most prestigious school around. We don’t need him.

And if Kling hits the ball he will immediately become a good hitter. Obvious analysis……..

No.

The angles he pitches from makes him a very different situation. He’s a real problem almost immediately when he starts throwing strikes.

People are referring his velocity being low to mid 90s. But for him it almost doesn’t matter. Same with the slider. It’s such an extreme angle there’s no real improvement needed.

Sorry bro. Every good hitter hits the ball. And every good picther throw strikes. Basic requirements. Let’s stop trying to make this more difficult than it really is.

But, every pitcher that throws strikes isn’t a good pitcher.

When Cam Johnson finds his control, he will immediately be effective.

You are aware they hosted a regional this year, right? They don’t suck.

And every good pitcher throws strikes. That’s an irrefutable statement.

How wasn’t he?

Do people really think he wasn’t overrated? I’d say the highest rated recruit we have ever gotten to campus should’ve been better than he was. Not only was he incredibly raw, the potential wasn’t what is was supposed to be either.

How awesome would it be if Konnor Griffin decides to come to Baton Rouge too. I know it's unlikely that he ends up here, but he's not closed the door on LSU yet.
