I think the last game I ever sat in the student section as a 40 year old was the Arkansas game after DiNardo was fired. We won the game and the bourbon was flowing freely. It was a lot of fun.
The next time I was in Tiger Stadium, Saban was coaching.

We’re looking at dates to take my daughter to an official school visit this fall

We are coming from out of state so it’s not that easy but she’s never seen a football game in Tiger Stadium and I really want them to experience it at night

I hate having to guess which one it would be. Right now I’m looking at the A&M game but I’m afraid it might be 230.

Tiger Stadium won that game that night. LSU played bad first half and Ole Miss couldn’t get it going either. Great atmosphere!

That was my first game back in Tiger Stadium in about 25 years and my at the time 22 year old son's first game there. We sat one section over from where I used to have season tickets before I moved too far away. He went out on the field after and has a jar with some grass from the end zone. I remember and will never forget sharing it with him.

IMO, this was the moment:



I think that watching his old buddy—who, let’s face it, wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed—assemble the best team in the history of football made him realize that this was a place he would come to if given the opportunity. And I think he’s been trying for a long time.

He calls it one of the highlights of his entire career.

I still get sentimental about where they used to cut to Les singing the calling Baton Rouge part in the video.
