Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him. But 3 games in a week, including such a long outing on Wednesday?

Poche would be due for a 30 pitch pen tomorrow.

Basically an in in or 2 worth of work (if you include warming up)

Not outside the realm of possibility

Not sure why, but I feel good about Gilbert tomorrow. Are they throwing the guy we faced Monday?

No. They're throwing the TJ guy who was a first rounder.

I'm worried about Gilbert only because they've seen him before.

I do like our lineup facing hard throwing righties, though.

Pete chill out.

Let's focus on Gildawg getting the job done for at least 6. Then let's ride Hess the rest of the way. If we have to bring in Newman or Bain so be it.

Honesty, if we're really in a bind, bring in Poche. We have to win this game. It's not an option.

Yep I agree. If we need him bad enough he should be good for that.

So how often can a closer pitch when they took care of business like Hess did today?

As has been said before, he is scheduled to throw a bullpen tomorrow.

While Oregon State adjusts to the absence of pitcher Luke Heimlich, LSU is in a similar spot.

Oregonian Article on Rasmussen

No. I protest. Walker's situation is in no way similar to Heimlich's.

For practical purposes, how do you map out the pitching for LSU? Obviously, not the same as game 2, as that became a throwaway.

Gilbert- think he's gotta get into the 5th, anything beyond that would be awesome.

Hunter Newman, like it or not, probably being figured for 2 innings, maybe 3- figure once around the order, to bridge it to Hess.

Hess- one inning for sure, maybe two.

Figure we won't see Peterson or Bush again.

How about Bain? Inning or so, before Newman?

I've glanced at OSU's schedule, they did give some runs up in a lot of their wins, so I figure their bullpen is like most college teams- not as good as their starters. So I think we can get going on them, and if we do, the later it gets, the better it is for us. I don't think they are hardened as much as we are.... they breezed, we had to fight.

I think we may need around 6 runs, but I believe it's doable.

I understand that he is scheduled for a 'bullpen' tomorrow. A bullpen can be a lot different than game action with full effort and can have have a wide variety of things that are done during said bullpen. I just don't see him going tomorrow. If he does it means we are in the game and I'm down for that

I think Hess is going to be chomping at the bit and wanting to get in in the 6th or 7th.
