Hey guys, long time reader & first time poster here. Haven't seen this topic come up in pre-game talk so maybe I'm paranoid but is anyone else concerned about our players (Etling or Guice specifically) being injured by dirty plays from BYU? They have a bit of a reputation for being dirty and they are already at a disadvantage physically in this game so it wouldn't surprise me to see them try some dirty shite to take some of our players out of the game. Here's hoping that doesn't happen and the good guys come home with the W.

I think if they pulled that stuff Coach O would handle it one way or another.

Let them try, that would likely get their QB hurt for the season. Eye for an eye. We have the players to really get it done too. They get dirty and you will see some heads rockn.

It was my impression that the linemen have more to worry about.

I heard all of the BYU player's kids were going to buy up all of the candy from every single one of the concession stands.

Haven't you heard? The weather experts at TigerDroppings have already announced that there's no way that this game is happening.

That's a good point. Could see some Auburn-Glenn Dorsey type stuff if their O-line can't stop our front 7, which I'm fully expecting they can't.

I would think that goes against their Mormon morals

I watched BYU a few times last year and for sure will watch them this Saturday. It did appear to me that they hit late and do a lot of shoving after the whistle blew. It's like they try to play a bullish type of game.

They will be in for a rude awaking if they try that against us

I never heard about this until that bowl game brawl they had with Memphis a few years ago. Apparently a lot of their opponents feel like they play dirty. Surprising given their over the top religious beliefs. Being TPOS on the football field must not be one of them.

They have had a reputation for being a bit chippy, and playing to the echo of the whistle.

They are physical, and they are grown men. They aren't pushovers.

I'm sure LSU has dealt with dirty play before. LSU can take care of themselves.
Miss State and Florida come to mind.

I've got a cousin in Utah (Utes fan) who says the dirty play was due to a coach who is no longer there. Not an issue now.

We would be a very bad opponent to try that with. I have no doubt that we can match any overzealous play with a little of our own.

As for dirty, I will have to see it to believe it. I doubt that they will bring that kind of play our way. It's not like we haven't seen it before against tougher teams so I'm sure that we'll handle it well enough.

The new coach doesn't seem like that kind of guy based on his interviews

That's exactly what they want you to do. Get the superior team to start thinking of fighting instead of their assignments.

I just don't think that it will work. LSU plays in the toughest conf in the nation and is used to that sort of thing.

You can't leave Auburn, aka chop block U, out of any dirty play conversation.
