drops by wideouts and OL protection deflated his stats greatly

If anyone can find me a full replay of the Mississippi state game, I would greatly appreciate it. Couldn't find it anywhere on Youtube.

Biggest takeaway: LSU's uncreative passing game rarely produced wide open routes. Burrow was forced to squeeze passes into a lot of tight windows. Hopefully SOMEONE on this staff can implement a passing game that allows the QB a few easier throws by scheming guys open

I saw from PFF that his adjusted completion percentage was 70+%. Can't remember the exact number.

I think he'll be in the 65-70% range this year. Maybe even higher due to us using the quick pass more often.

If this turns out to be true, LSU will be dominant. Brennan may even get some quality minutes.

Regarding the total stats, again, if that is Burow’s completion %, he may be coming out of games like tua did last year. Under would be my very uneducated guess.

1. There were so many drops, killed us
2. For all the bitching that Auburn was doing about the PI calls, there were twice as many not called.
3. I love to see Joe Burrow running. So effective
4. Giles was absolutely awful.

Big reason why I think he'll do well is what Brady said a few months back:

"Checkdowns leads to first downs and first downs lead to touchdowns."

Plus the RPO system utilizes high percentage throws.

Less big shots downfield, more high percentage throws, a veteran WR corps, and another year for Burrow to build some chemistry between his WRs will all bump that percentage up a good bit, IMO.

much more interested in the 2nd half. his completion percentage against ark, a&m and ucf was 66%. all away from home. that's respectable. that number goes up if you include rice. the passing game showed noticeable improvement

7 SEC QBs had more dropped passes than Burrow

Is this something you just looked up or a stat you remember seeing or hearing? That's a pretty incredible stat if true considering how much of a big deal drops have been on this board.

What stands out to me is all the three and four wide formations. The narrative all summer was LSU ran max protect all year.

Edited: Burrow was only affected on 11% of his incompleted passes by drops. 13th in SEC.
